#237 Good Morning Sunday, July 26, 2015

Hello World,

Today is Sunday and I’ll be going to church this morning but I don’t have any “responsibilities” so I’m going to get there a little before 10 rather than get there “early” to set up or go to “Sunday” school.  At  least that is my plan.  I’ve got to get the calendar finished for August but I haven’t heard from Stephanie about her people helping.  I think what I’ll do is finish it as it is now and amend it later so I can send it out before the end of the month.  I’m busy this week with doing District Meeting on Wednesday, Sisters by the Sea meeting on Thursday, Annual Celebration with Naples Group so I can pick up my Medallion for 13 years and end of the month things at work.  Not to mention doing Payroll on Monday and a variety of other things at work that are “time sensitive”.  I need to write up my reports for the Grapevine and then we’ll be having our Intergroup meeting the next week so I’ll be doing a lot of wrapping up.

So yesterday we drove to Sanibel for the Area Quarterly.  Bill, Roy and me.  I drove TY.  The day started out with Roy arriving at 6:15 on his motorcycle soaked through and through.  When he left his house he said it was “sprinkling” but then it started to pour and by the time he got to my house he was drenched.  We should have picked him up but then again, that was an “after thought” as usual.  So we took 75 and I almost missed the exit and swerved to get off the highway a little too quickly and scared all of us but made the exit.  Then we tried to get the exact directions to the Marriott but that took us a little out of the way.  But after thinking about the drive up and back I decided I would ask to be reimbursed for the mileage.  It was this:

Mileage to Sanibel

Mileage to Sanibel

It is amazing what you can get on Google.  I’d really hate to be an encyclopedia sales person today.  No need for those heavy collections of books when you have the internet.  But of course, I’m not a student wanting to write a paper so perhaps there is still a need for them.  At least in libraries.  I remember growing up with a set of “World Book” encyclopedias and I remember using them a lot as a kid.  I also found out on Google that reimbursement for mileage is now $.56 for business travel.  So I’ll get $50 for the trip to Sanibel.  That will pay for a tank of gas!

I got a funny message yesterday from Verizon.  It said that 75% of my data plan had been used up and I wouldn’t start over again until a few days later.  It was “suggesting” that for an extra $10 a month I could “upgrade”.  I’ve never had trouble with that before so I think I’ll stop in to Verizon today after church to see what I need to do about that.  But first I want to research my Verizon Bills to see if they have changed since I upgraded to the iPhone 6.  I certainly don’t want to have issues with that since it is my only phone.  So “more shall be revealed”.

It is supposed to rain today – according to my weatherman, Steve.  Yesterday it rained all day.  That was sort of a nice change, but the drive on 75 was pretty miserable both going up and coming back.  It was really hard to see the road, but TY did great and I felt that the car was handling the rain really well.  I plan to stay in most of the day to do some “committee” work.  I’m waiting to hear from John F about the District Meeting agenda.  I heard that he wasn’t going to the quarterly and that Steve K was going to be there for him.  Wonder what that is about?  Anyway, I’ll send out the agenda I have this afternoon if I don’t hear from him.  I need to get the reminder out to the GSR’s.  Mouse (Michelle) didn’t make it to the quarterly yesterday either.  It seemed pretty “sparsely attended” yesterday.  I’m not sure.  But I have to say I got lucky twice.  At the Grapevine meeting they were handing out tickets to win a book.  And my ticket was picked.  I won the “Emotional Sobriety” book.  Then last night during the Naples Group BB meeting I had a call from someone I didn’t know so I let it go to voicemail.  Turns out I won a book from the Grapevine table too.  So I won 2 books to add to our display.  The book I won at the Grapevine table was “A Rabbit walks into a Bar”.  So that is why I don’t think there were so many people at the quarterly.   I also think it may be because of the International in Atlanta and this being so “close” in time with that.  Who knows.  It will be interesting to see how it ends up.

So yesterday at the Quarterly, we had “The Grapeman” at our meeting!  Here’s proof:

Having trouble with my email getting the picture, I’ll get back to that.  I’m afraid that my computer still has a “virus” in it.  I’m having trouble getting the email to work correctly and the computer “froze” this morning and a few other things.  I’m going to take it back to “Frenchy”.  It makes me mad that it isn’t fixed.  But still what is it they do for $120 anyway?  So this time I’ll give it to him but I have a lot of work to do and will suffer with it while I get that stuff done.  I think that will be my plan for today and if I get enough done, I’ll take it back tomorrow.  It’s pretty frustrating to say the least.

Now my latest thing is wondering about the “Official” picture from the International.  I went on the site and pre ordered 2 pictures but now I can’t figure out how to check on them.  I’m sure with all of the orders they got, it will be a while before they get them all sent out, but they have taken down the site for the International and I’m not sure how to find out about it.  I hope I have some sort of email I saved with a link somewhere.  I’ll have to check my credit card statements to see if I’ve been billed for them.  Then I can find out that way.

Well I guess that is about all for today.  I need to get rolling.  Laundry to do and other things so thanks for visiting.  Enjoy your day!

Glad you had no accident and nobody got hurt on your way to Area Assembly. But your being awake–and sober–had SOMETHING to do with avoiding. Grateful!

Something needs to happen with uniform of Grapeman–MY opinion! He looks like a friendly back robber…a TALL Billy the Kid. (Hope he does not read these (sigh)…GOOD pictures, though.

You’ll be at EVERY Quarterly from now on–WINNING all the raffles!!! (I’ve got my room for October…for Fri and Sat nites. If we meet on Fri at IG, I’ll just get to Ft Lauderdale late, but BE there for early Saturday.

Mary, I look forward to hearing about your HP Laptop, AND about the Verizon warning. (I’ve had them before, but usually I’m always under our 2GB data limit…b/c whenever you’re on WIFI,, that data does not count. Only if you are on the “satellite”

    HEY, Have a grape week!
