#246 Good Morning Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015

Good Morning Everyone,

I’m returning to work today after having Friday and Monday off.  I had a fabulous weekend and I am still savoring it.  I really loved Sister’s By The Sea.  I am already looking forward to next year and I have started my “work” on it already.  I don’t see any reason not to use the same format as this year:

I think they look great, but we’ll do things by “committee” I suppose and someone may have another idea.  I just think they look great and I hope it’s approved to use the same format.  Why change it?  But theoretically, some one could use this year’s badge because it would be difficult to detect.  If they just wear the tag, we wouldn’t see the difference.  We could print it on a different color paper, but I’m not sure we’d have trouble with that really – it is an honest program after all.

Yesterday I stayed home from work.  I watched 2 movies on my laptop.  “Saving Mr. Banks” and “Healing Hands”.  Saving Mr. Banks was really good – I’ll be sending it back to Netflix.  “Healing Hands” was about Ben Carson – presidential candidate.  I’ve been watching him on FB.  I like him as a candidate.  I need to see him in a debate.  I know he is bright – a neurosurgeon after all.  Whether he should ruin his life by becoming president is yet to be determined.  The other day Kanye West said he was going to run for president in 2020.  So where has American Politics fallen over the years.  Seems like if you have money you can run.  Look at “the Donald”!  Really????  I would say that anyone who runs for president must have an ego that stretches to the moon and back.  So that is my take on American Politics.  Not that it really matters.

So Bill and Cathy are enjoying their summer.  I can tell by their pictures:

Such a happy couple!

Jonny and Ale are in Budapest after being in Slovachia:

They certainly “go places”!  I wonder what possessed them to pick those places?  They are usually on a wonderful Seabourne cruise, but I don’t think they are on a cruise this time.  I’m sure they have a “tour guide” setting up these things – but maybe with his “retirement” schedule, he can set these trips up himself.  I should ask him that question.  Anyway, I love that they go to these exciting places and she posts a ton of pictures.  So I almost feel like I’ve been on the trip and I’ve just saved the $10,000!

So at work I’ve been designated the “Team Captain” for our Heart Walk this year.  It is on November 7th – the day before the Corrections Picnic.  I’m looking now and I see that I can take off the 9th of November after that since it is not a “payroll” Monday.  Note to self – fill out the PTO slip.  Anyway, I posted on FB that I was doing that, plus I sent out email letters to some friends and family who support these things for me.  My goal is to raise $1000 and I’ve received $300.  $100 from me, $100 from cousin Dick and $100 from Jonny.  He sent it from Budapest!  I have 2 people signed up to join my team from work and so it goes.  I made up a flyer that I’m going to post at my desk and then I’m going to put up my “basket” for people to buy “Hearts for a Buck”.  The only down side to this, is that the Alzheimer’s Walk is the same Saturday.  I’d rather be raising money for that like I did last year, but I guess I’ll plan to alternate support each year.  Last year I raised money for Alzheimer’s and this year for the Heart Association, so next year it will be for Alzheimer’s again.

Well time is up today.  Thanks for visiting!  Have a wonderful day!

Hit the wrong button, could you delete my non-comment?–not that my COMMENT is more important, hee-hee!

Been following that European trip because “Ale” is a FB Friend. FABULOUS! What experiences must they enjoy, especially the “people” situations; meeting, greeting, exchanging views–without it all going through six different politically-motivated news media. I LOVE talking to strangers when traveling–or when NOT traveling, HA!

Have a people “story” from this very morning which knocked off my socks. Thank God I was wearing socks…It’s not for publishing, but…

I’m still in awe of the way you think, Mary–well, LIKING it, of course! You thoroughly enjoyed a wondrous weekend with “Sisters”, and already planning on next one, even working on it. Sheeesh! And from your sharing, I even became interested in “saving” a dollar a day for the next International AA Convention in Detroit ($64 to date) in 2020, goal of $1,800. Entirely doable…however I’m putting in $31 a month, because I forget the “daily” buck. But the plastic bucket is right on computer desk!

Found out I have not committed to Alzheimer OR Heart Walk yet. I’ll see which one looks easiest (puff-puff!)

    Thanks for posting.

I love it that Jon and Ale travel so much and share their memories on line. It makes me feel like I’m “there” without the hassle of airlines, waiting in line and skirting protesters in Budapest. I’m saving a LOT of money too! Now I don’t need to “experience” it myself. I’m doing the same with my “buck” a day bucket – I’m throwing in a $5 or $10 periodically. Think I’ll so that right now. Have a GRAPE day today!
