#323 Good Morning Saturday, September 17, 2016

Hello World,

Today is Saturday and a weekend without outside commitments.  The last two Saturdays I’ve missed the 8AM meeting because I had a hair appointment for Jackie’s wedding and last Saturday I was at Serenity by the Sea.  I hope I blogged about Serenity by the Sea.  It was great, but I think what made it great was that I shared a room with Haven.  I feel so lucky to have her as my sponsee.  We are great friends.  I think we’ll have fun together with Sisters by the Sea.

So I’m “released” from my doctor – no more trips to Ft. Myers for my leg.  Here is a picture of how well it has healed:

Today if the weather is cooperative, I’m going to ride my scooter to NAC.  It will be the first time in over a month.  So that will be great.

Now I’m obsessing about what to do with my motorcycle.  I’d like to keep it, but I think with this last accident God is telling me I shouldn’t be riding a Harley.  I found out that I will be receiving $3,146.06 from Farmer’s insurance for the bike.  When I called Everglades, I asked Michelle to send me the quote.  She said she couldn’t do that and I could come in to look at it.  Then she said that the quote was for $3400.00 (or something more than my insurance money).  Well, that didn’t settle well with me and I’m beginning to think about alternate uses of the money.  If I can get them to take the bike, I would keep the insurance money and pay down on my credit card.  This way, I wouldn’t need to go through the hassle of selling my bike and going through that drill.  I know that I’ve spent a lot of money on it already and this would only take away some of the trouble.  Then I’m being told to keep the bike and I’ll get used to it and be able to ride it with more practice.  I still go back to the little warning about the 2 accidents and damage to my right leg.  I think I should really just let it go, but how to do that is the question.  I just texted Roy about the guy he said was interested in buying it.  I would like to get $4000 for it.  With all of the new parts (battery and starter etc) it should be worth that.  But I don’t want to have to go through the trouble that it was for me to buy it from the previous owner.  I forget his name – very German like Reinhold or something.  I think I wrote about him in a previous blog.  So now I’ll keep praying about an answer to this.

Well the other day I did this:

My Apple Watch

My Apple Watch

I swore when they came out with the watch I wasn’t going to get one.  But Haven has one and many other people do also.  So I’m joining the herd.  I should get it today.  I’ll take it to church tomorrow and see if Michael knows about them.  Then after church I’ll take it to the Apple Store in Waterside.  I tried to get through on the phone to set up an appointment but never got through.  I can’t believe they are that busy, but maybe so.  I may be able to ride my scooter to church tomorrow.  We’ll see.

So now I’m involved with The Correction Picnic, Bocce Tournament, & the Gratitude Dinner.  Here are the minutes from the last meeting:

If you take the time to read them, you see what a great sense of humor Jerry has.  I am going to email him and ask him what a “Remissive Dipsomaniac” is.  I should “Google” it first.  I found it located in an old book about “lunacy”.  That was the “Dipsomaniac” part.  Now “remissive”:  relaxed.  So he is a relaxed lunatic.  That’s about right for all of us drunks.  Some are more relaxed than others!

Time to get going.  I need to get to the 8AM meeting.  Thanks for visiting!

Our meeting this morning was super.  Only 16 people, but good discussion about Step 2.  It is similar to what we are discussing tomorrow at The Current.  My next project today is to go to Food Angels.  I’m still not sure what is going on with MCC at FCC so I’ll be interested to see if Tracey comes to FA today.  I should start working on the October Calendar.  So that will be my project for the time I have before I need to leave for Food Angels.  Bye again!
