#330 Good Morning Sunday, November 6, 2016

Hello Everyone,

Today is the Corrections Picnic.  I will be glad when it is over, but it should be a wonderful day to be out and about.  I’ll plan to leave around 8AM so I can be there by 8:30.  We will be setting up and enjoying the day.  I’m bringing the small version of the Grapevine Display.  I’m going to see if I have a picture of it somewhere.  Anyway, it is just the little table with Victor E and Clara T with the basket of Grapevines and Grapevine subscription cards.

This is a very busy weekend.  We had the Heart Walk yesterday also.  It was a beautiful day for a walk in Old Naples.  What a beautiful place downtown is.  Our company was the 3rd largest donor behind NCH and Manhattan Construction.  My Orchid Terrace Team raised $350.  I gave $150 to get to our goal, Jon and Dick gave us $100 each.  So I was glad about that.  Here is a picture I took yesterday.  I walked by myself listening to Pandora.  It was very relaxing but I am stiff this morning.

Our shirts this year were awesome.  I think the Tee Shirt contest was “rigged”.  Hide Out Golf (Moe Kent) won, but our shirt was better I thought.  Oh well, we won one year – I still have that shirt.  They met their goal of $565,000 so they should be happy!

After the Heart Walk, I wanted to go shopping for a Lazy-Boy chair.  I’ve decided to get one after I’ve used the one at Jeff’s house.  So I’m going to move the livingroom chair into the bedroom and take the totally trashed orange chair and trash it.  I had thought of getting it fixed by Pete Curtner but have since reconsidered.  The chair I’m going to buy will be about $500 and I don’t want that additional expense, plus I won’t have room for it.

Last night I played hooky from the Saturday Night BB meeting.  I took Jeff to the Island Gypsy Café for dinner.  It was good, but not as good as the Capri Fish House we decided.  It is really just a “watering hole” and if I was still drinking I’d probably like it more, plus we’re trying to lose weight and their menu isn’t conducive to that.  But after dinner we went to the beach on Marco – Tigertail Beach.  It was super.  We’re definitely going back.  To kayak or paddleboard.  Here is the picture I took of Sunset last night:

The beach was practically empty.  The young guy who worked the concessions was really nice and very accommodating.   His name is Zach and he is just learning to play guitar and is hoping to start performing soon.

So Jeff and I are officially together.  We’re still trying to find our way.  But I truly believe he cares for me and me for him.  We’ll see how it  goes.  He does his thing & I do mine, but I think this will get me to the point of retirement sooner rather than later.  I want to start receiving my Social Security beginning in January and see how that goes.  But it was announced that Kent was leaving to run a place in Dunedin as a CEO.  He has always wanted to do that and now he gets the chance.  Dunedin isn’t Naples by a long shot, but he’ll do a great job and I will miss him.  But it isn’t that far – ROAD TRIP!

The other day I went out to the mail box and found a check in there from Jon and Ale.  I thought it was just to reimburse the plane ticket that I couldn’t get my money back for, but it was for a lot more than that.  They were in India when I got it, so I didn’t do anything with it until they got back.  It was very generous and so I sent them these:

They just redecorated their lanai.  It is beautiful!  If I lived in that house I would never leave it!  But they are in a different world and love to travel.  At least Ale does and Jon tags along most of the time.  But he’ll stay home on his own while she takes off.  Anyway, I am really grateful for the extra money.  I’m still trying to settle all of my medical bills from my August accident.  I think it will be quite a while until it is settled, but the attorney is doing his job and I’m not worrying about it which is really good.

Now I’m going to leave you with this.  Bill and Cathy are enjoying themselves.  I think Jeff and I are just in-between Jon & Ale and Bill and Cathy in our Lifestyle.  I love Naples and will probably never leave here.
