Hello Everyone,
Another busy weekend. Last weekend we had the Bocce & Shuffleboard Tournament. We asked for food for 40 and only 25 people showed up. Jeff came to help and was a good sport for a couple of hours. But he didn’t want to stay so he left which I didn’t blame him. I didn’t know many of the people who came. I was happy that Patty KD and Carmine came – it was nice to meet the guy she is married to and we keep hearing about. Then I knew Don P and Susan. Steve K was there doing the 50/50, but he didn’t have any “supplies” to do it. But aside from that, it was only Peggy that I knew. Patty won the 50/50 and gave back the money to the event so that was helpful. Anyway, the day was wonderful weather-wise so that was great. But it was just not a great event. The only good thing that occurred was that Guy decided to donate the food to us and now we probably came out ahead. Now I find out that Peggy said that Russell would donate the food for 125 people for a Luau. Now the chances of 125 people going to a Luau for Sister’s By The Sea is pretty slim. I’m a little sick of selling tickets for things right now and I don’t think it will be supported. I am getting a concerned about the whole thing. It doesn’t seem as though the committee has pulled together to do this. Peggy is not organized and can’t get the finances under control – at least I don’t see it. How she runs her business is beyond me.
So this weekend we did the Alzheimer’s Walk. It was wonderful. I raised over $500 so I got a medal. We had to “plant the garden”. I grabbed a number of Purple flowers that I’m going to give to my GV committee. I need to do the same thing with Victor E on the pedal for them. Anyway, it was a very successful event. They made their goal according to Vanessa. Here is a picture of Becky and me.
I love this event. I’m out of shape because after the walk, I came home and slept for most of the afternoon.
So then last night was the Gratitude Dinner. I’m glad that is over. I bought a ticket for Jeff, but he doesn’t like that sort of thing so I gave the ticket to Roy. I drove Roy because he sold his van and only has a motorcycle now. He looked good in his suit last night. The dinner was predictable. I did like the sliced meat – not sure of the cut but it had a nice flavor. The chicken was the same old chicken he serves every year. The green beans were good. I didn’t have any cake. So proud of myself. Here is a picture of the night from FB.
I left after the speaker and then there was a dance afterward. I’m not sure how that went. All I know was it got too late for me. I didn’t get to bed until 10:30!
So now I’m going to get ready to go to church. First time in 4 weeks. I have to set up because Kenya got called into work. It will be nice to be back with the gang again.
Thanks for visiting. See you next time!
