Good Morning World,

I’m 28 days into Retirement.  So far so good.  Yesterday I got “antsy” for the first time and so I jumped on BB and took a ride.  It was just what I needed.  I am keeping very busy, still considering working Part Time – everyday it’s a new thought about that.  I’m giving myself 6 months before I make a major change.  In AA we’re told to make it a year, but I’m not sure I can do that – we’ll see.  I must say though, I’m glad I don’t have to be at WORK any more.  Instead, I still get up early and get my ass to the 8AM meeting.  Then I get to the 5:30 meeting also.  I’m happy I have the New Attitudes Club to go to everyday.  I still go to my Home Group – the Naples Group, but that is only on Thursdays and Saturdays.  I need more meetings than that.

So last Sunday, Aunt Pat died.  God Bless Her!  She fell the other week and broke her hip.  They put in a few screws and she was in a lot of pain.  Dick flew up to Connecticut to be with her.  Luann was house sitting in Massachusetts so she wasn’t available until the next week.  Dick and Doug are trying to get back to Connecticut for the summer, so after she died, Dick flew back to Florida to drive Doug and Duncan back to Connecticut.  Whew – what a tiring experience.  I’m not sure where they are now.  Maybe in Connecticut.  Anyway, Aunt Pat never recovered from the fall.  She was admitted to Hospice and passed away.  Dick is taking care of the estate.  My understanding is that she had enough money to last until she lived to 102 – she was 90 when she died.  So 7 of us cousins are splitting the proceeds.  It should be over 100K for all of us.  I am shocked.  She really did a great job with her money!  Anyway, I’m already spending the money.  Will pay off my car and Trike and maybe do some upgrading in the kitchen and bathrooms.  That is certainly a nice surprise for all of us.  So R.I.P. Pat Roache and thank you very much!

I heard yesterday that Bob Garnett died.  He had struggled with cancer for many years – going in and out of remission.  I think I’ll try to get to his service when I find out when and where it is.  I’ll see if his Obit is in the NDN today.  Be right back: – No nothing today.

Every time I hear of another death of a friend, I know this is the right choice for me.  It’s better to be retired now since I am healthy and able to get around.  I’ve chosen the best place in America to retire to, Naples Florida.  I love it here and so do my cats!  So I’m happy as a clam.

Well, I’m chairing today at the 8AM so I better get going.  I may be back later.  We’ll see.  Thanks for visiting!
