Hello Everyone,
So it’s Labor Day! A holiday for most people, but for me, every day is a holiday now! I love retirement. I’ve learned that working isn’t all that much fun any longer. I am happy I took that “part time temporary job” with Esther and Phil to remind me that I don’t want to work. Now, if I need money in the future – which I should not – I’ll see what I can do if necessary. Right now, I’m happy to do what I am doing and be grateful that I don’t HAVE to work. I do feel at times like I’m wasting time. I nap a lot. I try to read, but it puts me to sleep. It might have something to do with the fact that I start reading in a prone position on the couch! Anyway, I’m reading The Fix by James Peterson. I love him as an author and his chapters are short so I feel like I’ve accomplished something when I’ve only read a couple of pages. I’ll have this book to take to Yellowstone, so that will be good. I love our library which is down the road, a short Trike ride, from me. I’ll be going to the beach today in a little while.
I’m now using my “FIRE TV”. I’m using it to listen to music. Right now I have the “Mommas and the Pappas” on. It’s funny though, the music doesn’t sound “polished”, so I’m wondering where they get it from. Doesn’t really matter though.
I’m also coloring a LOT. It keeps me busy when I want to EAT. I’m unhappy with my Weight Watchers right now. I’ve gained 4 ounces the last 2 weeks so I might skip a weigh in on Wednesday this week and go on Friday instead.
Anyway, back to coloring. Here are samples of my coloring book:

I love this coloring book. It has big, bold designs and allows me to use all types of gel pens and crayons on it. I love this “outlet”. I helps me feel creative without being frustrated by trying to make the designs myself. I’m excited because I can take the book with me to Yellowstone. I’m planning to do that and take my iPhone and my iPad with me. No computer. I know that service is “spotty” out there so I’m hoping I can get hold of Bill and Cathy by phone when I get out there. That will be interesting if I can’t! I should stop by Verizon and ask them about service out there. I might do that today if they are open. I’m going to ride my Trike to the beach because it’s beautiful this morning. But before I do that, here are a few more finished designs:

The secret is that it is on “thick paper” and is bound by the wire at the top. I’ve done about 10 of them and I believe there are 50 pictures to do. That gives me lots of things to do. I find myself sitting down at the table and drawing when I’m hungry or “antsy”. It’s fun and Domino likes to lie down on the table to be “near me” when I’m doing it. It’s very peaceful. I am so happy that I have my place. It’s the perfect size for me and I’m so happy to just “hang out” at the house.
But that’s about it for now. I’m going to go for a ride to the beach while I can still do that before it gets rainy.
