#364 Good Morning, Saturday December 9, 2017

Good Morning Everyone,

So today is Jennifer’s Birthday.  Here is a great picture of her:  I’ll get back to that.

Jenn Bates

I love this picture of Jennifer.  It was back in 2011 and it is how I most picture her.  She sent me a card the other day with pictures from Maggie’s wedding and they were amazing too.  She and I have known each other the longest of all my friends.  We were buddies from the start.  I had my first drunk with her in her house on Myer’s Rum and coke.  We used to stay home when there were dances at school and keep each other company.  We smoked cigarettes together and were such good friends throughout High School.  She married after me and was the 2nd of our Beaches girls to get divorced.  She has two lovely daughters.  Let me get a picture of them:

Maggie and MacKenzie

I love seeing these two girls!  Jennifer always wanted to be a mom.  She was very close to her mom and struggled with her dad.  Anyway, Maggie looks like Jenn and Kenzie looks like Tim (her former husband).  Both just beautiful!  I hope she can come down to visit me sometime.  Now that I’m retired, I hope to see her more.

Anyway, I have now got a new computer.  It is an HP Stream.  I paid $350 for it from Staples and I got it in the mail 1 day after I ordered it, which is amazing!  Anyway, I was going to get set it up so I could use it as I think my other HP computer’s hard drive was going out.  I learned that at Office Depot from a guy named Brian.  He was so nice and really knowledgeable.  I had a lot more success with Office Depot than I did with Staples so I’m a loyal fan of that Office Depot store across from the mall in the Publix shopping plaza.  So here is a picture of my new white, finger print resistant computer:

White HP Laptop

I’m looking back at my media library and see this exact image so I must have talked about the computer in my last post.  Anyway, I took the 2 computers in to Office Depot and had the files transferred from my old laptop to this one.  Brian was impressed by this computer which made me feel that I made a good choice.  All I know is that it is faster and I haven’t had the “not responding” message on it.  The other one was so slow and would freeze all of the time.  So now that I know how to put the computer back to “Factory Settings”  – learned that on YouTube – I may do the same to that one.  Right now, I’m just keeping it until I’m convinced that it is okay to get rid of.

I decided to sell my little “notebook” computer, but first I wanted to get it back to factory settings.  I took it to Staples and they said they would do it for me for $130.  Since I couldn’t get that much money for it if I sold it I declined.  But they did suggest I go on YouTube and get a video on it.  So I did and after the 3rd try, I got it to clean out.  Here is a picture I posted of it:

Netbook

So I posted it on FB in the buy and sell area.  I put it on for $70.  I got probably 15 or 20 responses.  Some were just trying to get it for nothing and wanted me to lower the price.  Then I got a contact from a guy who said he wanted to buy it for his 10 year old son.  I set up a time to meet with him inside Dunkin’ Donuts across from the 24 Hour Club – he said he needed to be at work on Pine Ridge and Airport at noon.  So he showed up, loved the computer and I was $70 richer.  What a great experience!  So now I have this on line to sell:

Wireless Keyboard & Mouse

I put it on for $10.  Haven’t received any bites yet, but we’ll see what happens.  Anyway, it was really fun to do the first one.  Pam sells things all of the time.  She said I didn’t ask enough for the little computer, and I thought that too after the fact, but that is okay.  I liked getting the $70 and having a successful transaction.

Last night I celebrated my birthday with Dick and Doug.  They took me to The Local.  It was a great time.  I love spending time with them.   They give me great advice and they are so easy to be with.  I’d like to spend more time with them, and it’s nice having “family” so close!   Jon and Ale are in PARIS now.  Spending a bunch of $$ at the best Hotel in Paris & shopping.  Let me get a picture for you!

Ale in Paris – Mink Coat

Very impressive!  Can’t imagine how much money that coat cost!  I think it would pay off my Trike though!  Anyway, they are having fun and that is all that matters!  Yes, I must say I’m a little jealous.

I bought a Roku.  It’s has turned out to be very much like the Fire Stick I have.  I’m still going to keep it, but probably don’t need it.  I just put on this:

Fish Tank without the hassle

I’m hoping that the cats will enjoy it.  We’ll see how that goes!

I guess that is about all for now.  I’m going to Food Angels to take the food to St. Matt’s.  They wanted me to work at Fresh Market today.  I guess Casey never got a demonstrator.  I didn’t feel like doing that, although my pay check is going to be pretty slim this week.  Oh well.  I’ll just sell something else!

Have a great day and thanks for visiting!
