Good Morning Thursday, October 23, 2014

Hello Everyone,

So today I am HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY!  First of all our 3rd Module of “Best Friends” went well and we only have 1 more to do.  I worked the equipment without a hitch, so I’m confident I can do it again without a problem.  Our “NEW IMPROVED” Dining Room is going to open on Friday after breakfast so our residents won’t need to be “wheeled” to the dining room and they can walk into a new beautifully decorated room.  It’s exciting for us.  We’re doing a “soft” opening and then a celebration will happen on the first Thursday of the month when we celebrate Birthdays!  Now, on to the Variety Show!  One thing at a time, one day at a time.

The most exciting thing though, is that I came up with a temporary solution to the “NEW MEETING” form not working on our website.  It is still not working and I haven’t heard from Gary about his “people” doing anything about it.  That frustrates me, but “it is what it is”!  Still doesn’t make me happy though.  ANYWAY…….I woke up at 3:30 AM and my mind was activated and I came up with a thought.  Suppose I find an “inactive” meeting in the Database and just change it to “active” and change the information.  So I did that and GUESS WHAT!!!!!  I TRIED it and it WORKED!  Genius!!!!!!!!!!  So now Easy Does It is showing on Sunday nights at 5:30, 123 Shuffle is on Saturday nights at 8 and a Young People’s Meeting is on Wednesday at 7PM.  I was afraid the maps wouldn’t work, but they do.  So now I know how we can fix that problem temporarily.  Gary and his “people” are NOT OFF THE HOOK!  Now it’s a matter of bugging him every time I see him.  Life is Good – but I’m going to be a little tired at work today.  I guess I’ll drink a LOT of coffee today!

I am now going to focus on The Corrections Picnic.  I think Tim is back in town, so he said he’d get with me about ticket sales, and I’m waiting to hear from him.  I’m not too concerned about it.  I have 50 extra tickets printed up.  There are a “smattering” of Bill W tickets so everyone should get “fed”.  I’m just going to enjoy the day.  I’ll suggest to Tim that he call Bill S to help “prep” in the morning.  John W is cooking so I’m sure everything will be as it should be and the weather is supposed to cooperate.  Couldn’t ask for much more than that.

I’m sure going to be happy when Thanksgiving comes around.  Everything will be “done” and I can relax – until the next big thing!  Which will be the trip to Atlanta in July!

I heard from my brother Bill yesterday on his birthday – he got my birthday card – he even posted on FB which he NEVER does, so I think he enjoyed the day.  Anyway, he said he will be “my way” in early December.  SO I’ll need a little time off to play with them while they are here.  They haven’t seen my new house yet!  Can’t wait!  Love them to death – as they say!  And Cathy loves to cook!  Guess I should dust off the oven.

We are now up to 15 Reserved tables at the Gratitude Dinner.  We had 20 last year.  I’m sure there will be more.  So I’m guessing 25 this year.  I’ll have 3 “Bill W” tables in “reserve” this year in case there are “screw ups” and then I’ll release them if we don’t need them.  Last year there was one table that got messed up – they thought they had a reserved table and they didn’t.  Communication issue, I’m sure.

Gotta go.  Out of time.  Have a beautiful day today – I know I will!

Thinking about something I just read.

You wrote “HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY”. Of course, there is less stress when life seems to be clicking, and that is good. Mary, you could not truthfully write “HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY” if you were not already happy within yourself.

When you express happiness, HAPPINESS RISES between you and everyone you meet (their happiness is also internal!).

Anyway, when I read your post just now, I can say that A LOT OF HAPPINESS AROSE here, and if my day gets any better I won’t be able to stand it!

Oh. My readings this morning were by Anthony De Mello, an Indian Jesuit who sprinkles his spirituality with a lot of Buddhism
    BYE!!!!
