Good Morning Tuesday, September 16, 2014

Hello Everyone,

So now I have a working toilet in my master bathroom.  The plumber put in all new “guts” so it now doesn’t waste water.  The other day I forgot that it wasn’t supposed to be used and I had to flush it and so I went out figuring it would finally turn off, but it didn’t – it just kept running.  So sorry to waste so much water.  I still feel bad about that.  Oh well, now I’m back to sleeping in my regular bed and we are all much happier – more room for all of us on the bed!

I was watching Master Chef last night and it came down to the last two chefs.  I couldn’t stay up to watch the entire thing so I was wondering who won this morning.  I can probably Google that.  Of course you can do that.  It came down to Elizabeth and Courtney.  So after a few clicks, I found out that Courtney won.  Of course, I’m not sure what she won, but it was fun watching the show.   Of all the Gordon Ramsey shows, this one is at least one where he doesn’t yell all of the time.  It is interesting watching the competition.  I often wonder how people do those shows.  How do they stop their lives for the time they are on those shows?  And afterward, they have to go back to their worlds and resume their lives.

So this morning, I’m not sure what I wanted to write about.  There is not a lot going on this week.  Although, at work they are closing down our dining room for renovation and now our residents need to walk much further to eat to the multipurpose room that is at the other end of the building.  It will be interesting seeing how that works.  I’m just glad I’m not trying to coordinate all of that effort.  Although I’m sure I’ll hear about it from everyone walking past my desk.   Because we are also closing down 14 apartments and converting the area to a “Memory Care Unit” we have to look at costs and have cut down on payroll somewhat.  I asked Lily (my boss) yesterday if it would help if I used a PTO day and take “long weekends”.  So now I’ll be having every other Friday off (Payday Fridays).  I get 10 hours of PTO each pay period, so if I take 8 hours every other week, my 400 hour “bank” will remain the same (with 2 hours added to the total) until we are up and running again.  So starting on September 26th, I’ll be taking off every other Friday.  That will be nice and my paycheck remains the same.  I told her that I’d want to take a couple of weeks next July so I can go to Atlanta and have time before and after the Convention.  But beyond that, I’m not planning to take any length of time off.  But we’ll see how it goes.  She told me “not to get used to it”.  But then again, I just might get used to it and start working only 4 days a week.

So now I’m over the fact that I don’t really need a new car, just yet.  I did look up the value of my car on Kelley Blue book and the trade in value is between $6K and $7K.  I’m guessing closer to $6K but I’d be happy with $5K – don’t tell them that.  So if I find a car for around $25K it would be reduced.  I think I’ll go to Car Max one day and see what I can do about that.  I really like the Tiguan and I think I’ll try for that car.  I really think an SUV is in my future.  I really loved my Toyota 4Runner that I had before I got Rose.  But Rose is so cute and fits so well in my garage!

So this morning I took a couple of pictures of my cats.  Here are the pics of Domino and Metaxa.

Such a sweet cat!

Well time has run out again.  Off to get ready for work.  Have a wonderful day today!

How boring my life must be–I watch Monday Night Football. (sigh) There is a fine old song, of which I LOVE the title, “TO EACH HIS OWN”…kinda like “Live and Let Live”? Hmmmm! 🙂

Yes, the yelling turned me from those cooking competitions couple years ago

Mary, I’d like to know just what you mean by caption on cat photo “Such a pretty cat–FOR A MALE”???? OK!

Whatever car you buy will be “Some Unique Vehicle”.
    (SUV…didja get that?)

As to a day off now and then…OH MY, it is about time you give yourself a little “MARY” time! (Oh, I see Friday “Red” rides in your future, weather is getting much more agreeable. Of course, knowing you, that time will quickly (if not already!) be filled with service work of some kind. HA! FOUR-DAY WEEK sound just magnificent–so long as it does not jeopardize your full time status (benefits).

Hey I’ve just been as usual, writing my view of YOUR writing. Not my business, but it is fun to “see” another’s life-game unfold–and not have money IN the game. LOL!!! BUY…or, I meant again, BYE
    (Subliminal message there–grin!)
