Hello World!
Today is all about:
I have to say, even though Red didn’t live up to my expectations on “Trade-In” value and I over spent on maintenance packages and Gap Insurance etc., etc.,………I could NOT be happier with my purchase. I’ll be paying this off over the next 5 years – so Moorings Park you’ve got me for another 5 years! (I’ll be 69) so I guess I’ll stay (if they let me) a couple of more years so I get the best deal with Social Security. Now I can let the idea of an “early retirement” just go away – I’m letting go!
I never even test drove this beauty. My experience was very drawn out – I even walked over to Costco to buy cookies for the Saturday meeting during the “wait”. So I never made it to the Rock and Roll Recovery Bash, but I heard it was well attended. I had a ticket so I supported it in my own way! I saw some pictures too. Then I had to call Heather and ask her to open up and make coffee for me since I wasn’t going to make it there by 5:30. BUT it was all worth it! I got to the meeting and we finished the chapter “To the Wives” which everyone hates (or loves if you are Ric). I thanked Patty for chairing in April and thanked Rick for chairing in May. I’m am so grateful for this wonderful HOME GROUP! Just one aspect of how important a “Home Group” is. After I took out the garbage which I have to drag out to the dumpster way across the parking lot…….I got back to my new scooter and a whole bunch of people were there admiring my new Red2. There was Ralph, Heather, George (he wanted a ride – I said no), Polly, Steve & maybe Chuck. I fowled up and couldn’t turn her on but finally she cranked up. I’ve figured out that I didn’t hold in the left (the back) break hard enough. Now it’s weird not having to change gears and clutching etc. This little beauty just purrs and purrs and goes on it’s own. Steve is like a “Proud Papa” about this. He even escorted me most of the way home last night – that was really nice – Thank you STEVE! I’m so happy I had the experience of learning to ride my Honda Shadow. Glad I took the motorcycle course and happy for the 3 years Red and I were partnered. R.I. P.:
She will stay in the “shop” for a while. She needs new tires, new shocks, new gaskets for the forks and God knows what else before she is “sellable”. I got so bummed out about the trade, I was afraid to drive her any longer and HAD to buy my new RED2. (Nice salesmanship!). The other thing was that I was glad I didn’t sell her “innocently” to someone else for a bunch of money and she wasn’t safe. That could have been a disaster. So now that I have a maintenance package on her, I will be diligent in keeping her “road worthy”. Time out – got to cancel the Craig’s List Ad. Be right back. Done!
So today, weather permitting, Red2 and I will go to church. Then we will ride down to the Brown Bag and celebrate Jackie and Joe (31 and 25 respectfully). Then I’ll just be happy to ride her a little more and then come home and go to the store for my “provisions” and then take a nap and take Red2 out again – maybe to the Botanical Gardens. Whoopee! I am Happy, Happy, Happy! I may even work a little on RR today (that’s my “online” class with Richard Rohr about the 12 steps and Spirituality). But I have a feeling I’ll probably just look on line and dream about “accessories” for Red2. I’m thinking a Luggage Rack in back. There isn’t any place to carry “stuff” but under the seat and I think it gets pretty “hot” in there. I’m not sure I like the look of that big storage unit attached to the back. I did have one for “Otto” and I used it a lot. I want to figure out how to carry a “beach chair” as I know I’ll be riding her to the beach a lot. I never did that on Red, but it’s a new age, a new day! Although I did find a wonderful beach access that had a bench in the shade that I could sit on and meditate by watching the water from a distance. Which reminds me, Jackie said that Amy and Kai and she were going to go to “SPIN” after the Brown Bag. Guess that’s on the agenda too!
So lot’s to do. I’m going to get going now. Thanks for visiting!

HAPPY! HAPPY! It is SO good to see and read of a friend’s pure happiness…and don’t look back (trade-in disappointment, etc.) We work for our money, and we pay for what we want–need. DONE!

Rode Red2 for and hour and a half. My butt is tired but I drove all over downtown and Port Royal. It was great to be down there. So much building going on. It seemed like every other house was for sale.
