Ms. Days Ease RV Life #113

Good Morning Everyone! Today is Tuesday, March 24, 2020. It is a beautiful day again here in Louisiana. I just saw this in my campsite:

Deer in the morning

I know this is a bad picture – it’s through the window – but you can see the deer that walked by Daisy! SO COOL!

I decided to go ahead and take a shower this morning before I took off and I am so happy that I did. I feel so much better now! My trip today was pretty short relatively speaking. I got to Sam Houston Jones State Park at 1:30 PM. I am in site 28 which is a pull through which is super. I’m level and plugged in now. A/C is on for a while. I’ll turn it off later. I have nice shade so Daisy will keep cool. It’s breezy so I’m not sure I’ll be putting her awning out. So now that I’m at a “busier” campground, it seems even weirder because I still want to engage with my neighbors and I know I can’t, so it’s better that I stay in Daisy for now. Plus it’s hot out.

At Loves

This was at a teeny tiny LOVES after getting off I 12 and back on I 10.  I 12 was a little scary.  There were two times when big trucks were coming on to the highway without much room between me and them.  White knuckled it a lot.  I haven’t felt that on I 10 at all.  Anyway, that’s over for now.

After getting to Lake Charles, there was a Walmart just as I got off the highway and I thought I should have stopped there.  But then there was another “neighborhood” Walmart where I did pull off and stock up.  They had everything I wanted – Orange Bubly – bought 2.  Jimmy Dean Egg Scrambles, Cinnamon Toasted Cheerios & Almond Milk.  I’ve decided I need to eat before I get on the road in the morning, no knowing how the drive will be.  I get so hungry in the afternoon if I haven’t eaten in the morning.  So now I have some choices.  That was my excuse – no choices for breakfast and now I’m set.

So here are my views from Daisy at Sam Houston Jones State Park:

I remember being here before.  I stayed here after driving from San Antonio on the way to Florida.  My next stop after that was Biloxi, MS.  So on the way to Arizona, I’m going to go to Guadelupe River State Park.  When I spoke to them, they said the park is open with out people working.  I am supposed to be able to just drive in and fill in the information about me and my rig.  I have a reservation for 2 nights.  The trip is supposed to be 5 hours and 21 minutes to my next stop which means it will probably take 7 hours or so with stops for rest and gas.  Now here is another view from Daisy at SHJSP:

Next is the view from the drivers side:

Passenger side with Metaxa:

Now I remember staying here and I was over in the area closer to the bath house and I spent the night in a back in site and had a nice neighbor.  I think I remember thinking that there must have been an easier way to get to I 10 from the way I got here coming from San Antonio and the man was helpful by giving me a better route.  But that is what is different from that trip to this trip.  Now I’m not too concerned about directions because GiGi has gotten me everywhere I’ve needed to go.  Plus now I can’t really “socialize” with the neighbors.

I took this video on my way in.  This is a beautiful park and I’d love to come back here again one day and spend more time.  Lot’s to see here.  Plus there are 2 Walmarts!

Here I am parked in 2 places at the Neighborhood Walmart.  There was no frantic buyers and I got everything I wanted.  I noticed that there was an egg shortage, but still plenty of eggs.  Fresh veggies were full and I got some frozen power bowls.  I got everything I wanted.  I didn’t check the TP but I have plenty of that!  So now I think I have enough food to get to Benson and still have some available once I’m there so I don’t have to rush out.

So here is the video of the park:

I missed the turn the first time and turned around to enter in from the correct direction.  Then I started looking for Site 22.  Well, there isn’t a 22, I was supposed to be in Site #28!  I was looking at the tag from Fontainebleau State Park!  Crazy!  I guess I’ll finish this up now.  I’d like to go for a little walk and then come back for a nap.  I may go to the EDI 5:30 Zoom meeting today.  I got to one last night at 7 – it was a woman’s meeting.  It was interesting.  So now I know I can get to virtual meetings!  Thanks for visiting.  I’ll add to this if something happens.  Otherwise, see you next time.

So I went to the EDI Zoom meeting but quit early because someone put their phone down and you could hear their TV in the background.  I’ll try it again tomorrow.  I still have my alarm set for 4:20 my time for it.

Now this is something new.  The big TT next to me and Class A across from me have their generators on and it is shaking the ground.  Daisy is vibrating and it’s a little weird feeling.  I’d like to change my site, but it’s too late now.  I guess I’ll get used to it, but we’ll see.  Right now it feels a little like a rocking boat and we all know how I get seasick.  Well. maybe it will be better later.  This is the first time this has ever happened to me.  Hope I can sleep tonight.
