RV Life with DAISEE2 #125 Thursday, March 7, 2025

Good Morning everyone!  I’m beginning a new blog on a rainy day in Mesa.  First time it has rained in many months.  This time next week, I’ll be getting ready for my trip to Lost Dutchman State Park with RVW.

Sue Shaw and I went there for 4 nights in December. It was GREAT! We had planned to have Genie join us but her rig was out of commission, but she did drive in by car to join us. On this trip, we’ll be in a Group Area.

This was last year in the group area. I was between Alice and Elna and Sue Shaw. This year, not sure where I will be, but I’m looking forward to going. I’m not going to take Metaxa with me, although I will miss her. Since there are no hook-ups, I don’t want to chance it with either being too hot or too cold. It’s supposed to be nice there temperature wise next week, but you can never be sure.

There are 29 of us signed up for the rally. Genie said she is going to cancel, so I hope there is one more on the list so we can be full and give someone a chance to go and give Genie her money back.

There have been a lot of changes over the last year. I signed up for it on the 31st of March LAST YEAR! One of the problems with it this year is that the bathrooms (toilets) are not working. The showers are supposed to be working (as it was when we were there in December). They have port-a-potties, but they are really AWFUL! So I guess I’ll use DAISEE2’s for the whole time. I’ll try to dump before I leave so it will not begin to stink, if you know what I mean! The good news is, that I’m only 20 minutes from the park, door to door. So I won’t leave here until about 1:30 since we’re not “allowed” in until 2.

I was contacted by Tim Gustafson (My medicare/MASA guy) about a new APP called “Tripcast”. I think it is like Instagram but without all of the drama because you get to “invite” people to your site and approve them personally, so that you don’t get bad players like you do on other apps. Anyway, I set up “Travels with DAISEE2 and Metaxa” where I can upload pictures and videos so my friends can follow me and my travels. I have 8 members so far. I’m pretty excited about it right now. We’ll see how it turns out. I’m hoping others will start one so I can follow their lives (Bill and Cathy and Winston come to mind).

Today is Saturday, March 8, 2025. It is bright and sunny today, but a little chilly – 49 degrees at 9AM. I took a shower this morning so I’m waiting for my hair to dry. I MAY go on a walk today, but will go to Gilbert rather than Usery Park. Jack is going to go dry off the JEEP and I’ll dry off DAISEE2 so she’ll be bright and shiny for my trip to Lost Dutchman next week. I’m looking forward to it A LOT!

After his bath!

Love it when they cuddle!

Metaxa and Ziggy are sharing space. SO CUTE!

I’m up at 4:45 to go to my meeting – it’s earlier because of the time change! I don’t like that much, but it is what it is! Anyway, I’m going CAMPING today – YAY! I’m not going to take Metaxa and I’m sad about that, but it is boondocking at Lost Dutchman so I don’t want to chance it. It is supposed to be cold. There is a 95% chance of rain today, so I guess I should expect that. I’m not leaving until 1:30 today so I’ve got time to relax before I leave. I’ll take a shower today also, then I’ll be set for the weekend. All is well.

I arrived at 1PM. I was hoping I would get a corner slot so I could put out my awning (when the wind dies down) and also my STARLINK. I’m all set up and plugged in to my JACKERY for the STARLINK. I’m wondering how long it will power it. I love doing this little stuff. There are many of us here already. No rain yet but lots of wind!

This is my view out my back window this year. I LOVE IT! I’m next to Yvonne. Then we have Alice and Elna and Meg & Carline, and Robbin Rutherford!

It’s raining now. I’m so happy to be here even though it is raining. Since I don’t camp a lot, rain doesn’t bother me. It’s great to know my rig doesn’t leak. The wind has died down a little now, so I think it’s going to end pretty soon. Only 2 women haven’t made it here yet. Everyone else has made it. So we canceled the Meet and Greet today and will have it in the morning instead. So I’m enjoying this A LOT!

Good morning everyone! It is FRIDAY March 14, 2025. I woke up to these temperatures!

My first sip of coffee at 5:45 and it’s 64 in here now. I put on my Little Buddy Heater since it is much quieter than the furnace. It’s TOASTY! I just discovered that this is my 850th blog! WOW! I couldn’t get on to the internet with my computer because (as I discovered) my VPN was BLOCKING IT! Glad to know that works! I have to say I am very impressed by DAISEE2 – the furnace works, the fridge is very cold and my stove works to make coffee. All is WELL! Now I think I’ll put some music on. BRB! OK now all is well! The sun is coming up right now and I see it out the back window. I’ll get a picture of it soon, but first – look at these beautiful sunset pictures from last night after the rain!

That was the reflection on the mountain! WOW! People came out after the rain – they have to walk their dogs!!!! This was the real sunset!

I love my spot! You can see my STARLINK in this picture. IT IS REALLY AMAZING! The sunrise is happening now. I’ll step out to take a picture in a minute!

Beautiful!

I bought the neatest thing – shades of a back up for your back up from Roger Williams. It is the greatest little battery bank that I plug my STARLINK into. SO COOL!

It also has an on/off switch. Two USB outlets and another output spot. I have it plugged into my Bluetti to keep it charged. I’ll probably go charge up my little Bluetti at the pavillion and bring out my BIG BLUETTI! I’m charging up my Jackery with my little Bluetti and it’s at 26% from 3%. Slow going!

I’m seeing some activity at the Pavillion. We get breakfast at 8:30!

We have a fire going too. It’s only 50 degrees this morning!

Notice I’m still wearing my Suzee Slippers!

24 Rigs and about 40 women. It’s a very cool rally. We were going to go kayaking this morning, but it is WAY too cold. Just got up to 64 degrees and it’s NOON!

Met a couple of new members – Myk and Gail Behrens-McArdle and their dogs. The larger dog they needed to put down today later. So sad!

We played CARD BINGO!

We went to Tortilla Flat to celebrate Sue’s birthday. It was fun. They said and hour and a half and it was only 20 minutes so that worked out pretty well. No Amy bowl for me tonight. Nachos were good, but too many jalapenos and onions. I couldn’t eat them all, but didn’t bring them back because I knew I wouldn’t eat them.

Bought the perfect magnet from the store – $8!

I’m running out of room on the board and this fit perfectly!!

Prickly Pear Lemonade. It was fantastic. Very tasty!

It’s really cold here. 56 outside and 66 inside. I turned my furnace on. Boy oh boy! Still glad I’m here though. This is REALLY Camping!

It is now Saturday, March 15 – Beware the Ides of March! It rained all night last night. Light rain, very soothing. I used the furnace last night for the first time since owning DAISEE2. I guess I’ve never camped when it was that cold. I’ve discovered I have plenty of battery power with my Jackery and Bluettis. Plus the little green one I have. STARLINK is really GREAT! We’re supposed to meet around 8 AM for muffins under the pavillion. Later we’re going to have a Memorial Service and Ice Cream for Renae Council who was with us here last year, but died shortly after that rally. I’m not sure I know who she was. I woke up and turned the furnace off around 2AM. But it really blows through the propane. I’ll have to go to State Trailer and fill ‘er up, unless I see something on the way home, but nothing will be open on Sunday I suppose.

I stole this picture from FB. If you travel away from the campground, you can see this shadow 20 minutes before sunset. Pretty cool!

This was the view through DAISEE2 to the mountain at Lost Dutchman:

We drove to Mesa Marketplace today. I bought a wallet that holds your credit cards that can not be scanned by thieves. I’ll use the old one to hold my money. Should be good. Here is a better picture out the back window:

I went for a walk around the campground and found an area that was empty:

Many of the sites here do not have electric so it’s tricky to get one with water and electric. I think we’re going to get this area again for next March. I sure hope so.

Fabulous turn out for the pot luck. Lots of side salads. We were supposed to grill something to eat, but I didn’t do that and only ate the salads. It was plenty and they were very inventive and delicious!

Tonight’s Sunset! Beautiful!

It’s SUNDAY morning and it’s my last day here at Lost Dutchman. It’s been a great rally. I think we’re going to try to come back next year. There were about 40 of us and it makes for a wonderful time. I got up late for my meeting but I did make it. We had our business meeting and it was over in 9 minutes! Love that! So my temperatures today were:

Not going to leave until about 11AM today. I’ve meditated and will go for a walk around the campground this morning before I leave. I can hear cayotes this morning! It’s 8AM and no one has left yet.

I took a short walk to close my ring. Here is part of the walk – I went for 14 minutes more:
