RV Life with DAISEE2 #93 Monday, June 3, 2024

Good Morning Everyone! It’s SUMMER in the City. The beginning of JUNE! It is HOT, HOT, HOT in MESA! I’m going to complain a LOT about it. I don’t like the oppressive heat. But the good news is that I’ll be leaving on the 13th to go to a cooler area. I’m looking forward to that. I can’t take Metaxa with me because we’re dry camping. And I’m going to try to get in to a place in July and we were talking about it last night and MAY try to take all 3 kitties & Jack of course. I would love to find a place to park DAISEE2 in cooler weather for a couple of months. This place that Bill and Cathy suggested is only 2 hours from here. I’ll keep you posted on THAT!! Got to go to my meeting, I’m chairing. I’ll be back!

We love the SLAB! It is one month old yesterday!

It was hot this morning early so I only made it 1 mile today. But the good news is I get to see my neighborhood and how other homes look. It’s very educational!

Beginning this again on June 5th. Here are all three cats together:

Just waiting their time at the faucet – so cute!

This is where we have a reservation in JULY:

Look it’s near Happy Jack, AZ!!!!

I looked back on this blog for June 8, 2014 and this is what it was about:

I’m thinking and praying about my family this morning.  My Aunt Pat is moving to an Assisted Living Facility called Maplewood, in my home town of Darien, CT.  As luck would have it, I’m returning to my home town in August for my 45th (I can’t believe it either) High School Reunion.  I’m staying with my cousin Dick who has recently retired and has taken on the role of primary caregiver for my Aunt.  Aunt Pat is the sole surviving sibling of my mother and the last member of our family of that generation.  She is the youngest of 5 and is in her nineties now (I’m not sure of the exact year and either is she but I’m sure Dick can tell you) :-)!   Anyway, she is going to visit her new home today with my cousin to get the “lay of the land” so to speak and then the physical move is the 15th of this month.  It will be great that I’ll be able to visit with her while I’m up there in August – so that is wonderful.  I so appreciate the hard work and stress that goes into such a move.  So many deep concerns and so much fear.  It won’t be easy, but I pray that things go well and that Aunt Pat will grow to appreciate the help she will be receiving.  I work in an environment like Maplewood at Moorings Park.  I see this transition everyday and how it impacts families.  Some work through it positively, some don’t.  It’s always stressful and takes a toll on the family.

Imagine – going back to Darien for my 45th Reunion. WOW!

I was sitting out in the Arizona room (still want to call it the back porch or the Florida room) and I was watching the hummingbirds drink from the feeders. I bet there were 5 or 6 of them – not at the same time, but throughout the 10 minutes I was out there. It is so great. It got me thinking about that cool place in Patagonia, which got me thinking about Jeeping in Tucson out of Catalina State Park:

Jeeping with Madeline and Genie!

I was watching a YouTube video about a group Jeeping in the back country near Sedona. I thought it might be fun to do that when we go to Munds in July. Their trip was a week long camping trip also so it was much more than I would like to do, plus the terrain was pretty dicey in some parts – too much rock climbing for me, but you couldn’t beat the views they got to see. But since I watched the video, it was like being there.

This is a good video about Sedona:

Even a better video:

The hikes are too much for us. But the views are amazing!

Looking back at a couple of old blogs and found these pictures of the Naples Pier:

I saw where the Naples Pier is still not fixed two years after IAN. No telling when it will be fixed. Also found this video about the beauty of Naples:

Just discovered this YouTube channel:

It reminds me of the song by Joni Mitchell: You don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone!

Found this picture the other day in my blog from Jerome, AZ!

Jack was worried about his musical instruments getting damaged out in the Arizona room over the HOT Summer so we did this:

It looks amazing. I love it. He was concerned the wall was too barren and wanted to buy some more cowboy art. Now we’re set.

I was looking around my pictures on FB the other day and found these:

It said that it was posted in February 2010! That makes her 14 years old. SO CUTE!

On my way to Canyon Point. I’ll start another blog once I get there. I hope I get a signal!
