Good Morning Everyone! It’s a new month. Happy August! I just got back from a wonderful boondocking experience in Eager, AZ at Apache Trout Campground. It was with RVW and we had 10 rigs and 12 women at one point. It was a 6 hour trip from Tucson into the White mountains and the temperature was so great. 70’s in the day, 50’s at night. I was able to use my computer, but there was no cell service at the camp where we were, but if you walked down to the entrance to the park, you could get a signal and and text and make calls. We had a woman come by to demonstrate the Starlink service and we could all go on line in the middle of nowhere. It was amazing. I’m trying to decide if I want to spend $600 on equipment and then $135 a month. Is it worth it? I’m not sure. More will be revealed. They have a system for RVers which I might think about, but it is still the initial cost of $600. It would work at the house too and then we could get rid of COX. Anyway, that’s a decision for another day. Here is DAISEE2 at the campground:
I don’t like the way these pictures are coming into the blog, but I guess there is nothing I can do about it. Anyway, I was tucked into a great spot surrounded by trees. It was glorious!
I’m glad I had it because the campground was hilly and I wanted to get some exercise beside walking. I just got the luggage rack and basket installed. It’s going to be good to go to the store once it begins to cool down. Love this little bike!
Back to the camping trip………

I pulled off the highway on to a pullout and took a couple of pictures of the Salt River Canyon. It was amazing driving through it.
Before leaving on the trip, I was able to park Daisy at our garage. She hangs over just a bit, but our neighbor Jim has junk on that side of the garage and she doesn’t impact him at all:

So having her just 5 minutes away in storage is great, and we can plug her in overnight to cool the refrigerator before a trip so we can put food in the refrigerator before we leave. It’s an amazing refrigerator.
So one of the very exciting things that happened over the weekend was that we were surrounded by wild horses. I’ve never seen that before. Here is a little video of them in our camping area and over by Daisy:
(Can’t get it to work, but I’ll keep trying)
It didn’t make a thumbnail, but if you copy the link into your browser, you can watch it. So great!
Here is a picture of the horses:
I even got a picture of them outside the rig from inside Daisy:
I’ve never seen “wild” horses so this was a big thrill!
We even had campfire one night and made S’Mores:
Can’t say I liked them much. Messy and sticky. Not my cut of tea!
I went for a long hike through the forest while at Apache Trout Campground. I wanted to work with my personal GPS. Still don’t know how to use it really, but I wanted to try. Anyway, here are some pictures from that “trek”.
Here is my camp set up:
Here are a couple of pictures from the hike:

At the last rally at Lyman Lake, I learned about painting rocks and other small things. I bought a paint set on Amazon for Dot Painting Mandellas. I had a wonderful rock out in our front porch which I painted black and did some Dot Painting on it. I think it turned out great as a door stop. I sprayed it with clear paint to preserve the paint and make it shiny:
And I did a couple of stencils too:
They look pretty cool, but not great. But it is fun so I bought some other rectangular canvases at the Dollar Store which I’ll paint black and do a few of these at some point:
This was my first attempt at the workshop at Lyman Lake. More will be revealed!
So finally Odie and Metaxa are doing better together. Jack took this picture of them on the porch TOGETHER!
I can’t wait until it is cool enough for them to be out on the porch and we can leave the front door open for them so they can come and go. That will be exciting!!
