Good Afternoon Everyone,
I am in DAISEE2 at Kartchner Caverns State Park in Benson. It is an RVW weekend with the Arizona Chapter. I’m expecting Genie at some point. Laurie is already here and many other women with RVW. I just left Jack home recovering and taking care of the kitties. He is doing pretty well. The meds are kicking his ass, but a few of them will be done in about a week. Then he will get checked over and hopefully he’ll not need all of those meds. He’s doing pretty well, considering what his body went through 2 weeks ago. He stayed in the hospital for 10 days and has been home for a week.
The drive to Benson was easy peasey. I stopped by the house to pick up the frozen dinners (which I almost forgot). I packed up a couple of things and let Linda and Kevin tour the house again. I’ve offered it to them and said I’d like to have it done before the end of the year. I’m not sure they want it. They aren’t sure either so I’ll just wait. I’ve set up a move through the same guys that Jack used to move from Benson to Tucson. They quoted me around $800. REALLY good price. Jack won’t be ready to help much until November, so we hope to have the move done before Thanksgiving. Then I’ll know what I left in case Kevin and Linda want it. I told them I’d “throw in” the storage trailer if they want it until they build a shed. I hope they buy it. Otherwise I’ll need to sell it with a broker and it will cost more.
So now I’m here for the weekend:
This is site #54. It’s at the end of the road and I don’t have anyone to my left. I’m looking straight out to the mountains and it’s cloudy now, but sunset (if there is one) will be beautiful. I have no one behind me either so I can see sunrise in the morning. Right now I’m looking out the front windshield at a guy and his cat on the picnic table in a harness. I was thinking about bringing Metaxa but decided to leave her with Odie and Jack. She’ll be better off there. But I miss her!
Here we are trying to stay out of the rain:
I just put this picture on FB for the Born Free Site.
I decided to try to put on the contact paper. Here is the start:
And this is as much as I got done:
I did a crappy job, but perhaps you can’t really see how bad it is.
It’s Friday now, the 7th. I got up to go to the meeting on Zoom from Florida. I actually slept until 4:45 and had trouble connecting from the computer. It seems to be settled now. The screen on this laptop is toast. It’s broken off of the keyboard. I don’t think it can be fixed, but I might let Jack take a crack at it. He has more patience with stuff like that than I do. But rather than buying a new computer, I realized that I have the large screen at my desk. It’s a little high but perhaps I can get a few pillows on the chair that will lift me up. We’ll see. I don’t really want a new computer necessarily. Time will tell.
I went on the Foothills Hike today with 4 other ladies. It was good – took 2 hours and I was exhausted. I’m so out of shape! But I did do it and I’m glad I did. My feet hurt a little. Here are a couple of pictures from the hike.
It was really pretty and the temperature was pretty cool. The breeze was glorious. But I was glad when we got back to camp. Here is another picture from along the way:
I realize that the mountain views look the same – oh well. But I love the plant with it’s huge blossoms!
Here are a couple of other pictures:
And another:
I’m trying to sell my fridge. So far it’s a no go: Sold it to Laurie Alexander. She’s going to use it when she goes to Tucson from Sierra Vista and COSTCO.
Well that is about all for today. We got a big rain storm this afternoon so I put everything away and will start again tomorrow. I’ll do some more contact paper tomorrow and take a shower in the bath house. Then we have a couple of discussions – fuses and a Book Club. I might go to that. Not sure how that will go, but I’m not hiking again tomorrow!
It is now Saturday morning the 8th of October. Jack and my ONE YEAR anniversary! WOW. It’s been so good. I’m really happy. He is such a good man. I’m so blessed! And this was my sunrise today!
You can see the reflection of the inside of Daisy in this picture – I took it through the window! It is really pretty today. It is in the 60’s so I have a sweatshirt and slippers on,
This is my view in the morning:
I just love Kartchner!
