RV Life with DAISEE2 #38 Saturday, January 7, 2023

So this is the first post in 2023. Happy New Year everyone!

Here is our “lucky” New Years Day Dinner:

Lucky 2023 Dinner

Cornbread, Bacon, Greens, Black-eyed Peas & Rice. It was delicious. We did it all from scratch – with a little help from the canned greens and peas – very good I thought. Anyway, I guess we created a tradition. This was our second New Year together. Many more to come!

It’s been a bit chilly recently. We have SNOW on the mountain outside our window:

Snow on the Mountain!

Makes me think I’m in Colorado!

I’m getting the baseplate put on Luci next week. We need to drop off the JEEP on Tuesday so they can get the “guts” out of it to put in the VW. So on Wednesday, they will transfer everything to Luci and we’ll pick her up with DAISEE2 on Friday and bring her home. I want to have a car in Quartzsite. I’m a bit nervous about doing this trip to Quartzsite and towing a car. Not sure what to expect out in the desert. But I’m sure I’ll be fine once we get there.

I wanted to figure out how many gallons my Propane tank was, so I searched for this picture:

Specs in DAISEE2

I filled up the propane tank at ACE Hardware the other day. It only took 7 gallons. Then I filled up the gas – $78 for gas.

I think what this means is that DAISEE2 should only weigh the 14K weight fully loaded. I weighed it once when I first got her to Tucson. I should weigh her again now that I’ve put other stuff in her. But I’m a bit afraid to do that. Anyway, I will do it if I’m going to go on an extended trip. Right now, I think I’m good for the 4 or 5 hours I’ll be traveling at this time.

Last week we had some rain – just after we repaired the roof, thankfully and this is what happened after the rain:

Sun on the foothills of the mountains after the rain.

I love how the mountains change depending on time of day or type of weather. We have a beautiful view of the mountains from our livingroom. I just love where we live. It’s a wonderful location in Tucson. We’re really blessed!

Today we take Otis to get the towing material out so we can set up Luci to be towed. It’s pretty exciting. I’m beginning this today, Friday, January 13, 2023 and we’re going to pick up Luci with DAISEE2 this morning. I’m anxious and excited about it. I know it will be easy to tow, but I will need to get used to it again. I just need to remember that I towed the Jeep to Colorado to meet Susan and Daisy did great. SO the VW should be a breeze!

I’m getting and additional $185 a month with SS now. Thank you Uncle Sam! I’m getting a little less with Pershing, so I’m not sure what that is about. I’ll check into it next month after my sale proceeds kick in. But all is well! AND – we have a guy interested in looking at the truck this afternoon. Wouldn’t that be wonderful if we sold that! Then the pressure will be off Jack for those medical bills he has to handle.

I got my computer back and couldn’t get into this blog at first. Somehow I fixed it, don’t really know how, but obviously it worked. The computer is set up a little differently now, but it should work out fine. And I have a thumb drive with all of my data on it up until yesterday. I think we determined that the auto update messed it up.

I put this picture up on the wake up page:

Daisy at Gila Box!

I need to get going.  Will continue this later.  I’ll put more pictures on later after our trip to Quality Bumper!!!

So this is kind of exciting.  Del Thole in Benson is planning a Music Festival in Benson in March.  He bought a bunch of property (20 acres) near the Golf Course in Benson and is going to develop it into an Event Center.  It is great for Benson.  Anyway, this is his first event:

Something else that is exciting. Suzee is moving to South Carolina. She is getting a “Tiny House” with her friend Christine. They are on their way up there today. This is a picture of the house – it has a SHED!

Now this is what is on my desktop when I open it. I like it better! It’s a picture of the Grand Canyon I took last year.
