Hello World!
Well today is a BIG DAY! We’re having our last service at Etudes de Ballet! We’ve been renting the space for church for probably about 3 years. We found a new space farther north at Imperial Golf Estates. The official address is: 975 Imperial Golf Course Blvd. We bought the space with the proceeds of our sale of our former property and our parking lot. The money has been sitting in Indianapolis in our “shelter fund” making money for us. So now we’re creating a NEW SHELTER – debt free! So BYE BYE Etudes:
I’ll have to get a new picture of the new space, but that will come. It’s amazing how our little church keeps chugging along. After we sold the church we rented space at The Community School for a few months until we were able to relocate to Etudes – right down the road from CSN. Now the plan is to have our own worship space that can be used as a church for us and an “event center”. We’ll be developing that side of the business, but it’s really very exciting to consider this opportunity. The Good News is that there are a lot of us praying this will sustain us. It’s a longer drive for me, but I think now that I have RED2, it will be “fun” to ride her each Sunday a little further up Livingston Road. I think I’ll take the route to Vanderbilt and then over to 41. My plan is to avoid 3 roads in Naples. #1 951, #2 Pine Ridge (as much as possible) and #3 Immokalee Road. Today we’re caravaning to the new space. Packing up all of our “STUFF” from Etudes and meandering up the road. This will be a BANNER DAY! Very exciting!
So speaking of “exciting”:
BEFORE AFTER
I decided it was time for “a change”! I’ve wanted to cut my hair short for quite a while and yesterday I “took the plunge”. I was trying to find an “app” to put my picture in and “try” different hairstyles. Well I couldn’t find anything but I did find a picture of a style I liked and took it to Karen Tucker yesterday for my appointment. She got all “excited” about making a change. So this is the picture I brought her:
Not exactly the same, but I see the potential and it will “evolve” into this look – at least that is the plan. Whether it works, is yet to be determined. I washed my hair this morning and I’m all supplied with gels and curling irons and hairspray and “mud” so we’ll see what happens. It’s a little scary really, but it sure will be easier to wear my helmet and not worry about my hair being messed up because this cut makes a “messed up” look all on it’s own. More shall be revealed. Just finished drying my hair. It turned out okay I suppose. I had my curling iron all set, but didn’t use it. Maybe later for “touch” up when I go out to Frankie’s 60th Birthday Bash. Need to go out to get a card and maybe something for that. It’s at Mercato so I’ll be putting on the miles on Rose today!
Frankie and Millie! I work with Millie as our D.O.N. Director of Nursing. Second in charge below Lily – Administrator. Millie is from Jamaica and she is a big hearted, “Jamerican”! We laugh a lot and bitch a lot. It’s a great relationship. I “get” her and I think she “gets’ me. Her husband Frankie is a GEM! I LOVE HIM! He has a transportation company called “EZJourney”. I actually met him before I met her. I was trying to get a “ride” for one of our residents a few years back and I discovered “Frankie”. He’s from Haiti. He has a beautiful lilt to his voice and is very calming over the phone. I love talking to him. I thought the name of his company was awesome and fit the whole aura of it. Then Millie was hired as our DON and it was months before I knew that she and Frankie were married. I think if I ever quit Moorings Park, I’d like to work for Frankie. Maybe not as a driver, but as a dispatcher. Frankie and Millie are two people I know I can “count” on. Kind of like a few of my friends in AA. So today is Frankie’s 60th birthday. Millie is throwing him a party at Mercato this afternoon. It was supposed to be a “surprise” but that didn’t work out. I’ll probably be “bushed” and want to take a nap after our “move” today, but somehow I’m going to GET TO THAT PARTY!
So now I’ve got to “get going”. Seize the Day! Semper Fi! All of that. More shall be revealed! Thanks for visiting!

Cute! I’ve never seen you with a different hairstyle. You’re going to love short hair! Bill likes it too! Enjoy playing in the “mud!” I actually buy “products” to use on my hair too!

Still working on the hair. Not sure how to “do” it, but it’s really fun to mess around with. Love it shorter!

About 18 miles, the route you will be taking to Imperial (I looked it up!) and 40 minutes estimated…(½-hour using using I-75). But, ya know what? When I had six night-a-week music gig at King Crown Inn at the end of Captiva Island, it seemed SO far at first. In a short time that 55 miles “zipped” past–I never went over the speed limit. (And I tell lies–mixed with truth!!)
Oh, the hair. YESSSS, girl! IF that photo is a selfie, ask someone to take your photo. Always a better shot, if the mind is not distracted by having to hold the camera “stead-=as-she-goes”…OK?
LIKE the cut …a lot. The compliments will freely fly this week!
As usual, I enjoyed reading a continuing “Life of Mary B”…you may have the makings of a book, with photos, philosophy and history all tightly, nicely packed, as the raison d’etre…
Seize the Day!!!!
