Hello everyone,
Today I travel to Miami for our Area Quarterly. It’s a service I do for The Grapevine and my home group. I’m riding over with Heather and Ralph so I don’t have to drive by myself. It will be great. I forgot to go to the ATM yesterday, but I’m sure that I’ll be able to get money over there if I need it.
I packed up my laptop for the weekend and I’m typing this on my desktop computer. I’ve been putting off buying a new computer because this one has been working for me. The only issue is that it is so slow and it takes a long time for things to “boot” up. The operating system no longer is supported by microsoft – whatever that means so eventually I’ll need to get a new computer. There is something to be said about starting fresh with a new computer. I’m enjoying my laptop with Windows 8. There is really only one thing that I have on this computer that I don’t have on the other one and that is Printmaster. I also have my Gratitude dinner files and it is how I do the mail merge for the tickets for various events. I’m not sure it will work in another version of Publisher – I think I tried it on my laptop once. But if I can do that, then maybe I won’t need a new computer anyway since, my laptop could do everything I’d need. Of course, every year I say I’m not going to do the tickets for the Gratitude Dinner, but each year it seems I break down and do it. Of course if I wasn’t able to do it because my computer died, that would get me off the hook. That may be a plan …… note to self!
I am sorry that I’m not able to attend Sisters by The Sea this weekend. I’m grateful that Haven is helping with the Grapevine Display on our committee’s behalf, but next year I want to help with it and participate. I pray that they choose a different weekend for the event though so there wouldn’t be that conflict. It is a good event and one that is important to be involved with as it is a different group of women and I want to expand my circle of sober women. I’m also thinking about participating in the PPG in Marco. It is a great little motorcycle ride for me to that meeting. I think I’d like to add a couple of more meetings to my week. Right now I’m mostly going to my Friday meeting and sometimes the Brown Bag on Saturdays. You know what they say “meeting makers make it”. I love those slogans!
Well, I need to go and finish up getting ready for my “pick up” at 7AM. I’ll add more once I get to Miami. My meeting is at 9AM and then I’ll participate in other things throughout the day and I’ll go to the banquet tonight. I wonder if Ralph and Heather will be at the banquet tonight – sometimes they skip it. Okay – more shall be revealed – another slogan!
