RV Life with DAISEE2 #43 Thursday, March 9, 2023

Good Morning Everyone,

I was supposed to go camping today, but alas, Daisy wouldn’t start yesterday. She would turn over but wouldn’t fire. There was plenty of gas and the battery was good, she just wouldn’t turn over. So we’re going to have her towed to Mescal for them to work on her. I’m very disappointed because I FINALLY got in to Lost Dutchman for 4 nights. UGH! Anyway, I’ll document this process. It will be over a week that she will be there because they can’t even get to her until next Wednesday. I feel really bad about that. I’m sure she will be safe – Mescal has always been great in the past. We’ll just see. I sure hope she’ll be back so I can go to Catalina State Park at the end of the month. I guess I should be happy that things have run so well for Daisy for me and it’s just inevitable that something would happen. If it is a faulty fuel pump, I guess replacing it, would be a good thing.

On a few positive notes, I got the check from the investigation into lost funds in Florida, so did Bill and Jon. It was nice to get that. Then I received my tax return and I’m getting a big refund. So THAT is pretty cool so the cost of Daisy’s repair is covered.

Here is a great picture of a triple Saguaro Cacti on my walk at Saguero National Park.

All of the Saguaro Cacti are distinctive. Some look like cowboys with guns. Many look like they are welcoming you to the desert. I even saw two the other day that looked like they were dancing. SO COOL!

I have now been told that Catalina Towing is coming to get Daisy.  So they have an hour to go – apparently there is one call ahead of me.  At least I know they have the type of tow vehicle for her.  I’ll take my picture of Daisy when she gets picked up!

I really wish I could have made it there this year. But they’ll go back next year and I’ll be sure to sign up when that happens!

So this is the weekend that the time changes across the country. But not in Arizona. That means that I have to get up even earlier to get to my meeting so I’m up early today and it doesn’t feel so bad. I’ll have more time to be by myself which is always a good thing. That is why I love going in Daisy to the weekends with RVW. Next trip for me will be to Catalina State Park on the 30th. Hopefully Daisy will be fixed by then. I’ll keep you posted about that.

I took another hike yesterday. A shorter one, but it was lovely!

Found this when I was looking at old posts. It’s a tour of my Florida home just before I traveled back to AZ after sending my Jeep to AZ.

I started this again on Saturday, March 18. Yesterday was St. Patrick’s Day. We cooked Corned Beef and Cabbage in our crock pot. Here it is on our plate:

I’m trying to flip it. Let’s see if I can do that. Not really sure how I did it.

Next year we will just buy the meat and separately have the cabbage, potatoes and carrots. We didn’t have enough potatoes this year. Live and learn!
