Hello everyone. I am in Williams with DAISEE2 and Trvaler. We drove up today from Tucson. Left precisely at 9AM. Even with the little hiccup yesterday with the towbar. Thank goodness Jack has some great mechanical skills. I’d probably hammered the thing in. He has all of the tools to fix things in his man cave garage. Thank you lord!

This place is interesting. I’ll take a tour of it tomorrow. I did checkout the bathroom and you need tokens for the shower. I’m at a Full Hook Up but I’m only using electric. I don’t want water or sewer. We are pretty packed in and there are only 40 spots. It isn’t totally full, but they have “RESERVED” signs on all of the sites. Let me see if I can upload the video:
We’re at 7000 feet so I expect it will get cold here tonight. Right now it’s very windy and 71 degrees. Here is my site:

I did the ultimate thing when unhooking the JEEP. I didn’t have the brake on and it started to roll backward. It wasn’t much of a hill, but it did move some. Luckily the girl next to me came over and stopped it from rolling. SO lesson learned. I’m really glad I’m by myself. We are all so close to one another, just a normal conversation can be heard. I’ll have to remember that for the ZOOM meeting tomorrow and use my earphones. But I might miss it tomorrow. I may sleep in. Time will tell.
Lucky the chips didn’t burst open…….. 7,000 feet:

There is a snow capped mountain outside my rig across the street.

Here I am at my first Gas Stop – $75.

RV’s everywhere. Woman behind me is a solo traveler and travels with her 2 cats. She was friendly. On her way to Alaska. I had to pull up 2 feet in order for the hose to make it to the gas tank. I was afraid I’d be hit sticking out so far, but all was well.
Full moon tonight!

I’ll put one up later when it’s dark out. Looks like it will be a clear night.
The Girls are in Vegas at the Venetian.

Good Morning everyone. Beginning again on Thursday, May 4, 2023. It was cold this morning. I missed my meeting due to wanting to stay under the covers!

First cup of coffee in my new mug. LOVE IT!

Fridge stickers missing a Grand Canyon sticker.

Went to pay my bill this morning. $175. Took this picture of a REAL Jeep!

I took a stroll around Bedrock City. It’s actually pretty cool. Here I am in JAIL!

Made it to the Grand Canyon today. It was really too windy but was beautiful. The girls didn’t get there until about 2:30 – got lost and made wrong turns etc. I missed my turn to El Tovar and had to go around again too and finding a place to park was tricky too. Here I found a place where Trvaler sat patiently:

I took pictures all the way to the hotel so I’d remember where she was. Check engine light is on, but I’m not concerned since we just got it serviced. All gauges look fine.
Look at this……

Sunset tonight!

El Tovar

Beginning this again on Friday, May 5, 2023. Even colder this morning:
Here is sunrise this morning from Daisy!

Another GC picture – more to come today!

I took a video of Bedrock City and I’m uploading it to YouTube now. I’ll put it here when it finishes.
It is now Friday, May 5th Cinco di Mayo. I’m at the GC early to meet up with the girls. Trvaler got a ringside seat and beautiful view all day:

Temps this morning:

We went for a very long hike – easy but still long today. It was about 5 miles altogether and I’m tired now, but I took a shower when I got back to Daisy and feel SO much better. Found out that the girls and I are very close to one another in Sedona so I’m going to just keep Trvaler hooked up to Daisy and I won’t need to unhook her until I get back to Tucson. Found out that she has a broken headlight and Jack said he was thinking of replacing them anyway with some super light so now he can order them without guilt.
Went to the Harvey House for breakfast and there was a bunch of information about the Harvey Girls so I took some pictures and sent them to Susan:

Started thinking about the last time (and the first time) I was at the Grand Canyon and it was with RVW in Williams during COVID. We weren’t able to see much of the canyon so this trip was so much better. The place is really amazing. Here are a few more pictures from other places along the south rim:

Over the edge!

So far it has been a great trip. We leave tomorrow for Sedona. That will be fun too. I guess that is about all for now. See you tomorrow.
It’s Saturday, May 6, 2023. It’s 6:30 and people are leaving already. I’m not going until around 9 or 10. We’ll see how antsy I get. The girls and I will meet up in Sedona.
Temps this morning:

So far this is the coldest morning. I’m listening to SMX Radio on my little speaker. It’s so nice. I think I’ll charge the speaker today. I need to set up Trvaler this morning to tow. It’s too cold right now, so I’ll be waiting a little. I’m pretty confident that I know where I’m going. I’m just hoping they’ll let me into my site a little early today. When it gets a bit later, I’ll give them a call to confirm. I’ll ask if it’s a pull through since I want to just leave Trvaler hooked up while I’m in Sedona. We’re going to travel together in their rental car. I found my “Beaches” hat. I thought it was in here. We talked about it yesterday and I thought I had it in here.
So I took a few pictures inside of Daisy. I love the comfort I feel inside Daisy. I especially like the way she looks in her kitchen:

Next is the driver’s side: I love the new addition of the license plate – 3rd Bug!

Here is the passenger side:

DAISEE2 is da BOMB!
There is now a new king:

When Charles dies here is what happens:

Look how cute! No neighbor last night!

Got the ceremony to put in here of the crowning of King Charles, May 6, 2023.
My girlfriends got me a sticker from the GC: First one for the FREEZER:

I’ll have to add it later.

I’m staying at a very odd place in Sedona. I have to say that GOD was with me today in all of my dealings. The trip down here from Williams was a nail biter. It was skinny roads and windy roads and I was glad Daisy was only 24 feet. I don’t think a Class A or big 5th Wheel would have made it down here. Then when I got to my final destination I was surprised when I made the turn. It was so hard to see – no signage due to bad flooding and other stuff. Fortunately, I and parked between 2 groups that are traveling together and they are very nice. The young girl was very helpful to me. We’re in the site and take up the entire thing. The Jeep is on too much of an angle to unhook – I believe. Fortunately the girls have a car and are picking me up. Sedona is so busy and traffic is a nightmare. Like Ft. Myers Beach in the winter – bumper to bumper. The town is beautiful. The Red Rocks are amazing so it’s really cool, but I won’t be coming back here anytime soon during the “season”.
We went to visit friends of Janet who live in a multi million dollar home overlooking Cathedral Rocks. Let me see if I can get a picture of their view from their kitchen:

It would have been rude to take more pictures, but trust me, it was AMAZING!
Today’s Temperature is much better to wake up to:

I slept really well last night – I don’t remember getting up once. That is really a milestone. Anyway, I also made it to our speaker meeting this morning. Life is good!
So here is another picture of this place where I am.

This gives you an idea of what this place is all about. There are only 6 pull through slots and the rest of the place are single wide trailers used as rental properties – at least it looks like they are rentals. Anyway, the place is located on Oak Creek which is nice and up by the office you can sit to listen to the creek run which is very refreshing. Due to the flooding etc, you can’t go down to the creek now. The office woman said that their dog run was also destroyed. Now after a good night’s sleep, I feel much better. Now I’m obsessing about the key in the JEEP. I’m wondering if I should remove it and if it will even come out. I’m leaving my rig for all day today and I certainly don’t want the key in there, but I’m afraid to take it out. I might try it, but first I’m getting dressed.
Views from downtown Sedona:

Suzanne, Janet and Heidi in the foreground:

The girls next to me went out this morning. They took their Imagine up the steep hill. No way am I taking Daisy and Trvaler up that way. I’m going out the way I came in and hope that I don’t run into anyone on my way out. I plan to leave tomorrow before 9. It will take me about 4 hours to get home. It’s just taking 179 to 17 to I 10 home. Should be pretty easy. I need to get gas at some point, but will probably be below a half tank before I get to a gas station I can get into. There was a Circle K at some point yesterday that I should have stopped at to get my UPSIDE credit. Maybe I’ll be lucky and find another one on the way home. It would be a good payday!
So I am now waiting for the girls to come pick me up. It’s going to be a jam packed day ending with a JEEP tour at sunset. BTW – I took the key out of Trvaler. Hope it stays in gear etc. for the trip home. Guess I’ll find out.
Meditated down by the stream this morning:
Finally got a picture of all three together on our hike today:

Got up to the Chapel of the Holy Cross

So today I take off from here:

So I’m continuing this blog on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. I got home early yesterday – about 11:30 since I left at 6:30. It was an easy drive home – not at all like coming down 89A from Williams!
This is my last day temperature:

Now that I’m back in Tucson, it will be 92 today. Shorts will be in order!

I forgot to put up my dash cam which would have been the thing to do on my drive to and from Sedona, but I did take a small video with my phone on the way back to Tucson:
I was glad that I left so early. It was 45 degrees when I hit the road. No traffic either.
Rest stop for Daisy and me!

I enjoyed receiving the very thoughtful gifts from the girls. I hung this in Daisy for safe travels:

I guess this is about it for this very long blog. So I’ll share it with the girls and hopefully not bore them too much. Best trip in a long time. Thanks for everything Beaches! Love you all!
