#222 Good Morning June 27, 2015

Good Morning World,

Lot’s going on these days.  I’m counting down to Atlanta.  Only 4 more days and I’ll be leaving at MIDNIGHT to ride to Atlanta in the “Druggie Buggie” rather than a big BUS.  Turns out it wasn’t such a “GRAPE” idea after all and we didn’t get enough people to sign up to afford a bus with a professional driver.  I’m a little mad about that, but I’m working through that.  I’m sure it will be fine.  Right!?????

So yesterday when I went to Intergroup for my volunteer slot, I was working on a few things.  We are transitioning to Electronic Medical Records (EMR) at work and we have to enter in all kinds of information about our residents in order to get that done.  Initially, we were going to do it at The Chateau and then come in on it at Orchid Terrace at a later time.  I planned my vacation about a year ago but now the schedule changed to start the “live” EMR on July 1st.  Guess where I’ll be………Atlanta on vacation.  So I’m getting “pressure” to get work done that is needed but IT issues arise and they finally got me my “rights” yesterday afternoon (FRIDAY that is) at 3:30PM.  Well, my day is over at 4PM so I left late, but satisfied that I should be able to do some of the work before I go.  Of course, that is not what I had planned to do before my departure on vacation because I have other responsibilities for the end of the month things I do etc., etc.  Well, too bad.  What’s the worse that could happen?  I get fired – although that wouldn’t happen – I don’t think.  So I texted by boss this morning to say I was willing to come in today to do some work on them.  I haven’t heard yet.  But I have things to do today too, so we’ll see about that.  At least I made the effort.

The other thing I learned to do yesterday at Steve’s prompting was “free up” space on my iPhone.  I have a 16 GB phone and we discovered that I only had about 2 GB left to use, so in order to free up space it was suggested that I move my 1000 pictures to this computer.  I went to Google and found out how to do that, so now I have 6.5 GB available.  I would guess that I could upgrade my phone (for a price) to 32 or 64 GB.  Maybe someday.  So today, I’m going to go try to find a picture that was on my phone and is now on this computer to add to this blog………

Soul Mates at Target

Soul Mates at Target

SUCCESS!!!!! I only had to rotate it a couple of times to get it right side up and I think the “quality” is good, so I’d say it was a successful project.  Plus I’ll have all my pictures on this computer and I won’t have to “email” them to me from the iPhone to my email, then download them and find them in “downloads” and then insert them in the blog……so many steps eliminated.  I’ll now have plenty of space to take pictures in Atlanta!  Life is GOOD!

I’m debating about taking this computer and my little ASUS to Atlanta with me.  I decided I was going to “blog” about Atlanta here on Wylie and not through Facebook.  My ASUS is lightweight and small, but I have to “hunch over” to use it and I think that will be a pain over the 5 days I’m gone.  So I think I’ll bring both, plus my Kindle Fire plus my iPhone.  So much technology – whew!

So now I’m going back to find another picture from this computer to upload to see what happens.

This picture was taken at my “old place downtown”.  I think they were all eating a “snack”.  Now I know I’ll have a picture of all 4 of my cats while Bamboo was still with us.

Well time is “a wasting”.  Got to get rolling.  Have a beautiful day today and thanks for visiting!

Mary, I had no clue you were experiencing a tsunami of work closing in on you these few days before the Atlanta gig. Almost feel guilty for writing something here you might take time-out to read. So convinced I am that whatever one might mention to you concerning “Stress, Peace, Serenity, Hang Loose, Living in the Moment, etc.” would have NO effect on your behavior–that I won’t mention them. (OMG! I just did…ooops!) Can only say here that you DO need some time away, and it is why we say Vacation means to vacate…right?–grin!

Anna has a new iPhone 6.0 and got the 64 GB model.

I’ll never forget how thrilled was the owner of Trail’s End Motel (Mark Weakly) when he upgraded his new computer to 40 MG (megabytes!!!). That took care of the whole 90 rooms of the motel, payroll, and other stuff–with a bunch of floppies, of course! Now it’s almost impossible to find a single useful app which is less than 40 Megs. (sigh) Remember, you can still check out the cloud for storage of certain large files, and “stuff”. I’m gonna do that also. Glad you can readily use the photos right from computer now, and made room on your phone. Congratulations!

Pictures are SO clear and, well…pretty when uploaded from computer!

Is Bamboo the kitty with brown neck, 2nd from left? Cute Mews!
Nice to “read” you again. Thanks.

I’m going to write Wylie tomorrow on ASUS to see how it goes. I decided I don’t want to risk losing my regular laptop in Atlanta so I’m keeping it at home. I’ll have the ASUS, my iPhone and my Kindle Fire. That’s enough!
