Hello World,
I’m writing this morning on my ASUS computer to get used to it, while I’m in Atlanta. I’ve decided that I don’t need to take my larger laptop although there are things on it that I will probably miss in Atlanta when I get there (such as all of my iPhone pictures), but that’s okay because my plan is to do a daily journal of this great AA International Experience. I mentioned that I’ve been planning this trip for 5 years. Ever since San Antonio, I knew I wanted to go to the next one which is right NOW in Atlanta Georgia. I’m loading updated information in my Garmin right now. It takes 55 minutes so I guess it’s a lot of stuff. Interesting though when I went on the website it immediately offered map updates for $49. So I went to the website and it’s being done now from my laptop to my Garmin. I hope that after it is all downloaded I don’t have to pay that $49 – but it wouldn’t surprise me. I’ll know in about 1/2 hour!
Domino is saying good morning!
So this is becoming a very exciting week. I’m leaving for Atlanta at midnight Wednesday night – or 12:01 AM on Thursday morning. Bill Strenkert is picking me up at 11:30 PM and we are “carpooling” to Walmart and then we leave in 2 vans to “caravan” to Atlanta. We were supposed to have one big bus, but the interest was not good enough to afford that. We needed 55 people and only got around 20. So there you go. I thought it would be a sell out. Shows how much I know. Anyway, this is what we’re doing:
There is a FB Page for the convention and I’m getting some really good ideas from there. I downloaded a map from my hotel to the GWCC. It’s only a 6 minute drive and the walk will be about 1/2 an hour I’m guessing. We’ll see. I think I’ll laminate that map. although it isn’t very clear. I’ll try to find a better map that is clearer. I got it from the AAA website. I think I’ll go to mapquest on my laptop to see if I can get a better (more clear map) – maybe smaller, but clearer. I can’t wait to get to the GWCC to pick up my “goodie” bag. Probably everything I’ll need will be in there, but as we all know and as Roger Williams would say……..it’s a back-up for my back-up! BTW – he’s in the program now – at least he used to be. I never see him at a meeting, but I think he goes to the 7AM meeting at the 24 Hour Club.
So typing on this computer is pretty similar to the other laptop, although the font is smaller, the feel of the keyboard is pretty good.
I think I’ll do some ironing now. So I won’t have to do it when I get back from Atlanta. Well, I’m going to get going now. Here is the picture I’ll leave you with today:
Thanks for visiting!
