Hello Road Warriors. I’m tweaking my trip to Yellowstone National Park beginning on September 10, 2023. It is really hot here in Tucson and I wanted to go earlier, but Bill and Cathy suggested that I get there after Labor Day when the “newly wedds and nearly deads” are there. So that is what I’m going to do. I’ve plotted my trip on RV Trip Wizard. It’s a great app because each time you make a change, all of the other stops change too. Like when I decided to take a side trip to Zion National Park on my way back. I added a stop for 2 days to get to visit that National Park. B & C told me about a campground to use, but it shows that there is nothing available on the 20th and 21st. I find that hard to believe, but perhaps that is a really busy time for that area. What do I know. Anyway, I have a phone number and I’m going to try it today to see if that is true.
I put the map of the US on my wall in my room:

I think you can see my highlighted route to YNP. I’m getting some tiny dots to put on the map so I can mark where my stops are along the route. I still need to use a magnifying glass to see the roads. According to the calculations in Trip Wizard, the trip is 2059 miles with 15 nights on the road. There are 10 stops. I made a reservation for the 21st & 22nd at a “sketchy” RV park (dirt roads, on the side of the road – uneven sites etc.) but I also have an app called: Camp Scanner. It is through Harvest Hosts and it “s cans” campgrounds you want to stay in and contacts you when there is a cancellation. Can’t imagine how complex that is but I just have to have faith that it does what is says it will do.
I just got reservations for the Zion Canyon Campground that is inside ZION National Park in place of the place where Bill and Cathy suggested. They had ONE site left for my timeframe and I booked it. So I canceled at the “sketchy” place. SO all is well. I can take the shuttle around ZION now and I’m very excited. So pray for beautiful weather. That is one thing I’ve been fortunate in my travels. The weather has always cooperated. Here is the campground:

Suzee sent me a couple of pictures of her beautiful tiny home in Ashville, NC – actually Flat Rock. Anyway this looks amazing:
Here are a couple of others of the porch etc. So much nicer than that garage apartment in Naples:

These pictures are from her phone so they are kind of small, but you get the point. Her cat Midnight loves it too!

Can’t seem to get the picture of Midnight on this couch. Maybe it will be here tomorrow or later. I’ll keep checking.
Beginning this again on Friday, July 14. Today we go to Walmart for groceries. It is so blasted hot here in Tucson, we’re staying inside a LOT. So an adventure to Walmart is pretty good. I got up this morning and went to my meeting and then did my exercises. I’m at Day 59. I like this little app and it makes me feel like I’m doing “something”. I also use the VIBE machine and my sitNcycle. Indoor sports! Who knew! The exercising I do for 30 minutes between my meeting and Jack’s arising. I then go out and sit and have coffee with him. Right now we’re inside looking at the Catalina Mountains. Then at some point we meditate with 10% Happier. I think it helps us both. At least I like to think it does.
Starting this again on Saturday, July 15. Well we did a thing:

Love that there are two windows around the bed. Back end and back of passenger side. Very cool!
As much as I LOVE Daisy – the BORN FREE brand and all there is to her, it’s time for a new RV. This one is “used” – has 3200 miles (not even broken in). It’s a 2022 22 E Chateau. I see a LOT of them on the road and with RVW. When you get inside it is SO spacious. Has a corner bed with it’s own window (in the back and on the passenger side). No more climbing up the ladder to sleep. Although there is a great big bed over the cab. It’s the same size as Daisy BF 8.5 wide, 11 high, 24 feet long. It has some kind of super charged engine – Jack knows and it just jumped out to us yesterday at the RV show at the fairgrounds. I have some inside pictures too!

I just love the space inside. It’s the same length as Daisy BF but much more spacious. There is only one VERY LARGE under carriage storage area. Here is the floor plan:

Here are some specs on her:

Here is a video tour of a rig like DAISEE2: on a Chevy not a Ford – has an oven – mine does not-would never use it anyway and the interior is a little lighter than mine, but you’ll get the point. Oh yeah, it has a ladder but I’ve been told that I shouldn’t get a ladder because it will cause a problem with the warranty if we get up on the roof. We can use the telescoping one we have for looking up on the roof.
Good news! I’ve been speaking with a woman for NW Texas who really wants Daisy BF. We spoke on the phone and she was the first person I got in touch with. It was through a post on FB that I put in the Born Free FB page. I got a LOT of interest. I have 4 viable names and numbers of interested people. Anyway, her name is Nancy Rose. I sent her this video of the inside of Daisy BF which is almost exactly like my interior:
The guy does a great job of explaining what she looks like etc. MUCH better than a video from me! But we’re going to begin cleaning her out today and I may do my own one for the new owner of Daisy BF.
So we’re cleaning out Daisy. WOW – so much stuff!

So now DAISEE2 is cleaned out. Look how good she looks:

Continuing on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. So now in addition to Nancy, I have another guy Joe Davis from near Ft. Worth, TX who wants to buy (I think) Daisy BF. He knows the brand and had one back in the day. Same model too. Anyway, he was going to drive the 12 hours out here, BUT his wife had appendicitis and needed an operation. So they are delayed. Nancy is going on vacation tomorrow for a week so I’ll tell her this guy is looking at it too so I can’t guarantee it will be available for her when she gets back. Anyway, it’s pretty stressful, but at least there is strong interest and it didn’t cost anything to make the post on the FB page. Pretty cool. I will put her on FB Marketplace soon now that she is all clean (except for the pantry – forgot that part) and ready for the new owner.
SOLD! SOLD! SOLD! To Nancy Rose. She called and said that she was going to send an inspector to check out Daisy which would have been fine, but I told her that I had just had it inspected at an RVW rally at Catalina. So she decided not to spend the money on it. She will send me a deposit by ZELLE for $1,000 today and she will fly out here on the 26th or 27th to pick her up. Just in time for us to pick up the Chateau on FRIDAY, July 28th. GOD IS SO GOOD! Can you believe it?????? Now I’ll text Joe Davis and let him know it isn’t available any longer.
Just sent this great picture to Nancy: It was a picture of Daisy BF with the awning out at Show Low but I can’t get it to open here.

Daisy at SHOW LOW – June 2023

My friend Sandy Fike from Prescott got a kayak like mine and she used it for the first time this weekend in Show Low. I was supposed to go, but with the new rig and the Yellowstone trip I didn’t go. But here she is – it’s the one on the far left:
