Good Morning Road Warriors!
Today we have DAISEE2 at our home and we’re filling her up with my “Stuff”! And believe me I have A LOT OF STUFF!
We parked her this way so Jack could organize the huge storage area on the other side. I think I’ll turn her around today. I need the experience of driving her and I think she will be cooler turned around. That big window on this side is awesome but the sun beats on it all day long. I’m having trouble with the A/C. I think we determined that it is set on Celsius and not Fahrenheit but I can’t find a book on my particular unit in the paperwork. But we will figure it out. Doesn’t blow as cold as Daisy BF – first negative, but it isn’t as well insulated as Daisy BF was – second negative. Here are a couple of other pictures:

Discovered that the front passenger seat spins around. That is a GAME CHANGER for me. Now I have a comfortable chair to sit in and I think I’ll leave it turned around unless Jack and I are traveling together. Found out that in order to drive, the passenger seat needs to be turned around. We discovered that there is only ONE house battery. Daisy BF had 2 and I never had any issues with camping in her, either plugged in or dry camping. So on Monday I will call La Mesa and ask them about installing a second house battery. I need to ask about the warranty and if we can do it ourselves or whether they have to do it. Jack suggests that we take the truck battery and install it as a house battery so they will be the same age and buy a new one for the truck and install it up front. So glad he is a car guy – I would never have thought about that and what a great idea. Since discovered that the truck battery is different from the house batteries. We will get 2 batteries that match so they will be the same age.
The fan in the middle of the coach is not working. We should have checked that before we left yesterday, but we were excited to get it home. Turns out that it works on a switch. Jack has totally outfitted the outside storage with all of the stuff we had on the porch:

I have mostly cleaned out my room too and have put most of the “stuff” in DAISEE2.
I chilled down the fridge. It took 8 hours but chilled down just fine. Discovered today that the A/C works just fine. It is set on Celsius so we just set it for 24C and it chilled down just fine. Needed to GOOGLE the conversion.
I’m beginning this again on Sunday, July 30. I’m finishing up with DAISEE2 today and we’ll take her to our storage area. I’ve got everything in her (mostly) that I will need on the road. I’ve decided to go to the KOA in Flagstaff in August – the same one I’m staying at on my way to Yellowstone in September. I need a bit of a road trip to “test her out” and to be sure that everything works.
I want to get another “house” battery for her. I still can’t believe she comes with only one house battery. I am finally finished with putting “things” in Daisee2. I worked with the A/C and if I keep it on 25 C (75 F) and on “auto” it does “its” thing. SO COOL! So this is how she looks inside:
We will take her to storage today. We’ve had her in front of the house for 2 days – 1 day more than we should. I’ll bring more pictures here once she is tucked away.

Today is Tuesday, August 1, 2023. It was under 90 this morning when I got up so that is so good, but this weekend we’re supposed to see 111. I really suffer in this heat. I am trying to be patient about camping. I’ve been looking at the temperatures in Flagstaff. In the low 80’s during the day and in the 50’s at night. Can’t wait to take off for there in a couple of weeks. I really love the new rig. I loved Daisy BF too, but having a new rig is just amazing. Not sure how much longer I can RV on my own, but I hope for at least 10 years. Time will tell as always. Just taking it one day at a time.
I’m sitting in DAISEE2 right now and I brought my laptop to see how it would work in here. The table is JUST the right height for the keyboard. I LOVE IT!
I brought my “very expensive” ($11) command hooks for my keys. Let me take a picture of them:
I was thinking that I put the Waggle on metal under the table and it may have picked up heat from it so I moved that this morning:
While I sit at the table blogging I can look out the kitchen window and see if anyone comes by.
I’m going to try a new location for the weather station. I think the back bumper gets too hot, but not sure whether there is enough air movement here:
I don’t like that the bed is so “exposed” so I’m bringing a large scarf to hang in front of the opening into the bed. I hope it’s big enough. I’ll take pictures. Today, we’re going to the DMV so I can make my DAISEE2 license plate legal. Baby steps. I’m also looking into getting a second house battery. I’ve been speaking with Freedom RV for service. Been speaking to “Dusty” and she has been very helpful and seems really nice. We need to get 2 batteries so that they match and will have the 3rd one for “back-up”. We may find the battery at Costco or O’Reilly’s. Anyway, I’ll keep you posted on all of this as we get to them! Just found the Thor Motor Coach website for my rig. Signed up for it. It has many documents about the rig and will probably have everything I need for the coach. I hope so!
My Motorhome – Customer Central
Beginning this again on Friday, August 4th. I put Reflectix in the windows of DAISEE2 to help combat this terrible heat here in Tucson. It’s 105 here today and it is already helping some – it is only 101 in DAISEE2. Still TOO HOT, but a little better. This is what I’ve done:

I also put some insulations in the fan in the livingroom and also covering the skylight in the bathroom. I ordered a fan cover from Amazon that is supposed to be here tomorrow and if it works, I’ll put it on the other 3 fans. This is what I have left over with the roll I bought:
I also determined that I didn’t like the way the bed was “exposed” when you first come in to the rig so I decided to try this:
Jack bought us a “welcome” mat:
He got to choose the hair style, clothes and drinks. He has a bourbon and I have a POLAR. Life is good!
