RV Life with DAISEE2 #63 Friday, August 25, 2023

Good morning everyone! It’s FRIDAY – TGIF! We’ve had Zena for 6 days and she is doing SO well! Just a little bundle of JOY! She is the happiest little kitty. She constantly runs around with her tail straight up – which I’ve been told means she is Happy, Happy, Happy! She is a big ole purr box. Purrs all of the time and flops down for belly rubs. She likes to play with all of the toys and especially the dollar store wands! So cute!

She loves the bed and likes to sleep up there during the day. We are still keeping her in the bathroom at night since we’re not sure how Metaxa will react to her at night time. Metaxa is staying out of the room right now – sleeping in her closet at night. I miss her on the bed, but I get to sleep in a bit each morning so that is good. This morning she was waiting for me when I got up. She didn’t eat the snacks this morning but might get to them at some point. She isn’t talking as much. But each time we introduce Zena to her, she isn’t upset by it. Today we plan to let Zena out all day. We’ll see how THAT goes!

She came out early this morning and ran around so much. We’re still keeping the door closed into my office while Taxi is in the closet sleeping – don’t want any surprises there. Anyway. soon we’ll have the entire house open to both of them. Right now we think she’ll need to be put in the bathroom at night. Taxi isn’t sleeping with us right now. I’m hoping all that will change as we get used to one another.

Beginning again on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Metaxa slept with us last night. That was good. I didn’t sleep all that well last night, but I was able to sleep until 6 this morning. That was great! Time to get some coffee!

These are Nomatic Fanatics Cats. We’re going to have the same ones – Metaxa and Zena vs Tara and Opie!

She is growing so fast. Can’t wait for all the doors to be open so Metaxa and Zena are FREE to roam as they wish!

So I learned about another temperature monitor for the RV. It only costs $30 and it’s a one time cost and takes double A batteries. The battery in my Waggle is dying and they don’t sell them and I can’t find it anywhere, so I’m going to try this. It doesn’t give parameters like the Waggle does, but all I want to know is what the temperature is in the rig anyway. So can’t wait to try it.

Today is Sunday, August 27, 2023. We closed the bedroom door last night so Metaxa can’t get in during the night. We kept Zena in the bathroom last night but will probably let her out tonight. She scratches on the door for a very short time and then settles down all night. Metaxa scratched on the bedroom door a bit, but seems to be OK this morning. Sitting on my lap right now as I blog. Can’t wait until she accepts the little one. I’m sure they will be fine eventually. It just takes time!

I got an email today from Ken at Naples Intergroup that Jim Bongard died. Jim is the guy in the center with the red sweatshirt on. Back in 2019 we did a CD called “Spiritual Awakenings” – a radio show based on A Christmas Carol that Jim had written. It was really fun to do. I have the CD somewhere around here. I actually sang a song on the CD – it was about Alanon – sung to the melody of “I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”. The words were “I heard mommy calling Alanon……..” Jim was really sick when we were doing this, but the group did a great job on the CD. Looking at this picture reminds me of how much fun it was to do the show. I was Chair of Intergroup at the time and decided to be in it because of that, but it ended up being a super experience. R.I.P. Jim!
