#240 Good Morning Saturday, August 8, 2015

Good Morning World,

So yesterday I was having my “session” with my friend Steve at Intergroup after work until 7PM.  I’m glad I do that on Friday’s – it sort of “centers” my weekend and I’m doing something for others when I open the store.  I sold a medallion and I answered a call about Al-Anon so I consider that worthwhile.  There were a couple of other calls that came in, but they didn’t connect.  Not sure what was happening with that.  The only thing I thought that I may have done, was leave without turning the lock on the door.  My habit is to “try” the door before I left, but we left at the same time yesterday and I’m not sure I did that.  So the door may have been “unlocked” all night.  I don’t think anyone would try to get in or even think that it could be unlocked.  I know I forwarded the phone and I turned the sign around saying “Closed”.  Well, time will tell.

So now I have a little “fan” shelf for my laptop to keep it cool.  It’s a little small, but it doesn’t matter.  I’ve decided to move my laptop into my den so I’m not sitting at the dining room table any longer.  I think it is time that I start using my laptop only and not worry about my desktop computer.  Only problem is that the keyboard I currently have has a round plug that won’t fit into my laptop so I’m on the search for  a wireless keyboard.  I want it compatible with my mouse that I use.  Steve tells me that Logitech should sync with one another so that would be good because I don’t have too many USB ports in my computer.  But I’m sure there is an attachment that would expand that capacity.  I’ll look for that at Office Max when I go for the wireless keyboard today.  I am picking up the leftover food at The Current today so I’ll be stopping by Office Max on my way.  I’ll just leave a little earlier today.  I think we are offering “free donuts” and coffee today while we work the food pantry.  So if I get there a little early, that will be fine.

Steve and I were trying to figure out how to “protect” our computers from unwanted viruses.  After taking my computer to a shop to have it “cleaned” out, the virus appeared again.  Making me wonder what the guy did for $120.  The same think happened when I took it to Office Max to be “cleaned” for about the same amount of money, plus an added expense of installing “McAfee” program.  I’m not sure that is still working for me.  I need to try to “find” it on this computer.  I’d like to have it activated if it is still there.  That’s another project, but then again, if it really “worked” I wouldn’t have gotten the virus in the first place.  So now I’m just frustrated by this whole process.  Michael gave me a link to an Adaware program that seems to have stopped the virus.  I’m still testing that theory.  So far so good.

My “foreign” neighbors are in town.  I think they live in Sweden.  Anyway, I ran into them yesterday and saw them leaving for dinner when I got back from Intergroup.  They had 2 kids in the car with them.  That’s the first time they have come with their kids and they said they are here for 3 weeks.  Maybe I’ll get a chance to get to know them a little better this time.  They seem nice.  They are in some sort of “importing” business and they visit periodically each year.  Their names are: Edeltraud and Wilhelm.  I just noticed their web connection – I think I’ll check that out.  Be right back……Ok this is what I found out.  The company is in Austria – so they are from Austria rather than Sweden.  Noted!  They own a “lighting” company that sells lighting fixtures and designs lighting environments.  The website is pretty awesome so they seem pretty successful.  I think I found out one time that they bought their place in the “early days” of Shadowood and I think they are the only owners of that place.  Last year they were doing some “remodeling”.  So maybe this year I’ll get to know them a little better.  I did see the other day that there were 2 bicycles in the driveway.  Probably for the kids.  This must be some sort of holiday (the summer) for the kids so they are out of school.  More shall be revealed.

I’m doing laundry today – time to get it switched over from the washer to the dryer.  Be right back.

So now as my day begins to fill up, I’ve decided to ride my bike to Publix before it gets too hot and I lose my motivation.  Have a beautiful day today and thanks for visiting.  I’ll leave you with this:

Keys on FIre!

Keys on FIre!

PS:  Wish this were my picture……I’d send it to The Grapevine for the calendar.  Still may if I can get permission from the photographer – not sure how I’d do that.  More shall be revealed!

Mary, I believe that is the most beautiful sunset picture I’ve ever seen. I thought your SIL shot it. (Maybe she “sent” it.) Going to crop some of the road (bottom) to make it wide-screen background picture for my main computer.

Funny, we fret and fume over who shot the photo, and if we are “stealing” if we use it…yet, we seldom offer credit to the MASTER PAINTER…God. We use all Nature as our special gift–which it IS!

Anti-Virus: I’m going back to my favorite, AVAST. I’m having several slight issues with LavaSoft’s AD-AWARE. But it’s always fun (for me) to try different stuff. Can you tell?–I LOVE computer-tinkering. I believe it helps senior Peeps like me to keep our mental acuity. I feel so sorry for those older Peeps who refuse to learn/try anything new, maybe a fear of change? (sigh)

Guess I want to die in the saddle–and probably will, hee hee hee
Thanks for posting. I enjoy. as do quite many others.
