Hello Everyone,
So today I got up REALLY Early. I must not have read the clock correctly so I’m going to spend time with Wylie today. Lot’s of things on my mind these days, not the least of which is realizing my eyes are tired and I’m having trouble reading this blog from my desk chair. I tried to wear my glasses but they don’t help, so now I’m afraid I’m going to need bifocals. WHAT!!!!!!! Not what I want to do, but I now have insurance for that so I guess I could go and find out. I’ll see how it goes and will “report” back.
So yesterday I sent a couple of pictures that I wanted to put on Wylie but I guess they didn’t come through. This was the first one:
Now that seems like just the project for me to do. I’m trying to figure out where I would do this at my house. I don’t really have a place, but I suppose I could do this out on my porch on top of the concrete. I mentioned this to someone and they said how would you keep the weeds from growing out of it. Well, that would be one way. On top of concrete would eliminate that problem. So first I’d have to build a frame to hold the stones. Maybe I could do the entire porch!
That may be a little too ambitious, but I could at least put it under my chairs.
Then there was this little picture:
This is a picture of my favorite coffee mug. I bought it over 30 years ago when I was married and living on Broad Avenue South. There was a street fair on Third Street and one of the vendors was selling these mugs. I bought 6 of them and I really love it. I’m down to 2 now and the best thing about it is that it keeps the coffee at the right temperature for the longest time. I think because it is a little “small”. Anyway, I just like the feel of it in my hand. Which is a little odd I suppose. Anyway, I hope I keep the two I have from breaking.
I’m eating blueberries for breakfast today. I have a container I bought at Trader Joe’s and they are delicious. I heard on “Intelligence for your Life” that blueberries are good “brain food”. So I’m eating them everyday to keep my brain ‘fed”. I remember once picking wild blueberries in New Hampshire. That was a “tucked away” memory. It was a time that we traveled to the “lake house” that was owned by Beirne’s family. I vaguely remember sleeping on the floor of the porch in a sleeping bag. I think there were 25 people in that house at one time. It was the first time I tried to water ski. I wasn’t very good at it. I do remember the cold water. And I remember the sound of the “Loons”. The movie “On Golden Pond” starring Henry and Jane Fonda and Kathryn Hepburn was filmed on that lake. I think it was called “Squam Lake”. Anyway, that movie reminded me of our visits to that lake house.
So today is Monday – the start of a new week. Now here’s a thought to ponder. Is Sunday the end of the week or the beginning of the week? Even though the calendar shows it as the “first day” of the week, I think of it as the last day of the week and that would make Monday the first day of the week.
So the last picture I’ll leave you with today is:
That is how I feel on Mondays! But I’m planning to have a fabulous week and I hope you are also.
PS: Bill and Cathy closed up the campground yesterday. They’ll be “moving on” shortly. Maybe she’ll “blog” about it. This was the picture they posted last year:
Can’t find that one but here is another one of my favorites!
Have a great day today! Thanks for visiting.

About 1980 I got glasses with brand name “Varilux”–and was ecstatic with the “see-a-bility”. Recently Don S (mutual acquaintance) got two pair of them, and was disappointed. I had warned him it would take 1-2 weeks to become accustomed–now He is “ecstatic”. You might consider them (there are other brands of that technology these days.)
Insurance could cover most of the cost. SEEING is believing! Good luck, whatever you choose.
LOVING the rug-rock–or is it “rock-rug”? Weeds not a prob–just spray weed killer once a month, NOT a big job. I have egg rock in places around the house–ask me why!–for 15 years, and weeds are not a problem. Rock-rug (on lanai) IS a back-unfriendly project. You could have “Rock-Planting” parties after your “old-timers” meetings (you’d be retired, right?)–LOL!
Two calendars I use. One begins week with Sunday (traditional) and the other with Monday. Only reason for using two schedule keepers, is that I always have an excuse for not knowing what day it is. Warning! NOT for OCD sufferers…
I wish a GRAPE week, for you and for all your friends who know and love…MARY!

I’ll think about the verilux glasses. I’ll research it one of these days. I’m beginning to like my laptop computer rather than the wireless keyboard and the larger screen. I’m still trying to figure out what works best. But I’m thinking I’ll just use my laptop and forget the desktop all together. Time will tell.
