This was at Lake Superior in the UP of Michigan. My hair was shorter and I’d like to have my hair like that now. It’s MUCH longer, but is easy to pull back.
I’m going to meet up with Genie today and go to lunch with her. She needed to fix her rig (new batteries) before her trip to Sharp Creek tomorrow with RVW. I was supposed to go to that one, but our slab isn’t ready to be driven on yet.

Starting this again on Friday, May 17, 2024. I went for a one mile walk in the neighborhood this morning and stopped by a YARDSALE but there was nothing I needed. Imagine that! I’ve been watching a guy on YouTube that narrates hikes in this area. I started thinking about hiking. Walking in the neighborhood does not qualify for “Hiking”. So I re-upped my “ALLTRAILS” app and found a little hike near me. It is called Brown Mountain and it is only 10 minutes from my house – kind of like Broadway was for me in Tucson. SO this morning I thought I’d check it out – after my earlier walk. I had on my sketchers – big mistake but being the stubborn drunk I am I decided to try it anyway. So off I go:
If you look closely, you can see Trvaler patiently waiting for me. So I continued up the hill: The next picture is from the TOP of the mountain. Then next one is “down the way” a bit.

It was a tough hike for me – it went up and I was out of breath a lot. SO now I know how bad it can be and I will sense some improvement as I continue this hike. I need to start at 6AM rather than 9AM. I’ll try it again tomorrow and I’ll wear better shoes too!! From the top of the mountain you can see Usery Mountain Regional Park:

So today is Sunday, May 19, 2024. I climbed the mountain again today. This is my path:
Pretty much the same both times, but I think it will get better. I walked around the top today which added time to my hike. I love this little hike. It’s fun to drive to it and then do the hike and then drive home. Reminds me of Tucson. I ran into two very nice young men running up and down the mountain. I asked them how many times they go up and down and they said 16 time! I’ll be happy if I can just go up and down once and work my way to MAYBE 2 times. AHHHHH to be young! I started at 6:30 and was back home around 7:45. SO I’ll continue to do this until it gets too hot, but I’m hoping 6AM will be a good starting time. Going up I was in the shade the entire time – sun was just coming up. Then the sun will be out when I’m descending which is easier to do. I’m using new muscles and it’s causing my heart to pump better because I’m out of breath. So this is going to be a great work out for me. So we went to breakfast today at OSG (Old School Grub). OUR little cafe restaurant in the HOOD. I love the place. People are so nice. They do a special on Thursdays for old foggies and they have a breakfast buffet on Sundays. It was GREAT! Sure glad I did my walk on the mountain today before we went there. Anyway, when we got back we did this:
I think I want to keep Trvaler there when DAISEE2 is home. Love the look!

Took off 4 minutes. I found another way to skip the really rocky end. I’m going to try it tomorrow. We’ll see how much it shaves off in time and distance.
I FINALLY got to CARD BINGO today. It was great. I met Phyllis, Jim and (I forget her name, but her mom and sister also live her in Dreamland Villas. She was really nice – I should have asked her name again. I didn’t win, but her sister won twice and her mom won once. I got down to 1 card twice and at the last round for $24! That would be fun. I’ll try to make it again next month. It’s FUN!
