Good Morning Bill and Cathy and the rest of the world!

I finished another Color Therapy.  I hope I never get tired of this.  I find it so relaxing!

Therapy 3

This one was really fun!  I see some “white spots” that could have some color in them, but I think I’ll leave it alone.  that is the cool thing about this.  I laminated this one and printed it out bigger than the others.  I’m thinking about making a “collage” of them some how.  Anyway, that is a project for the future.  I was on Jury Duty last Tuesday and didn’t get a chance to show off the the app at our Art Moai.  I hope to do that this Tuesday.

Speaking of Jury Duty.  Last week I was “called to jury duty”.  It started on Friday and I had to call to see if my number (249) needed to show up on Monday.  Not Monday, but my number was called for Tuesday.  Moorings Park pays me for Jury Duty.  So I essentially got a day off with pay and I wasn’t at work.  Sweet!  So it begins at 8:15AM.  You are brought into a room with all the others and you need to fill out a form that is given to the judge to show to the attorneys.  I was part of the first 20 jurors.  There were 20 back up jurors so they sat in the seats behind the attorneys and we got to sit on the Juror chairs.  It turns out that for this trial they only needed 5 jurors and 2 back up jurors.  The trial was to last through Friday.  Now I’m beginning to panic because the schedule had not been finished and I’m the only one that does that.  So I’m debating whether I need to say I had a work conflict and would like to be excused.  I never told them that (didn’t need too).  The case was a “personal injury” case where we would have judged whether the young woman should receive compensation for her injuries in a car accident.  The whole morning was taken up questioning our ethics and whether we would be good jurors or not.  They asked me a couple of questions, just mainly about evidence and how I would react to it.  I told them that I’d listen attentively but wouldn’t want to hear the same thing repeated 1000 times because I’d get it the first time.  But I’d probably not remember it all!  Anyway, we went in and out of the courtroom 4 times.  We had to line up specifically in an order so the lawyers and Judge would remember who we were.  There were deputies there to line us up in order.  It was an interesting process.  But as it wore on, we were finally chosen about 3:30 PM.  Fortunately I was NOT chosen – whew!  Funny though, they did choose an Hispanic woman who admitted not being able to read or write in English.  I’m still flabbergasted by that.  The other thing that was weird about it was why were there 20 back up jurors when they only needed 7 from our 20?  Those people sat in the rows behind the lawyers and were essentially just “audience”.  It was strange.  I also heard that they are only paid $13 for the day.  Lucky I had a job that compensated me for my time off.    I did learn a few things.  The Judge started educating us and then the prosecuting attorney and the defense attorney were the “questioners”.  Anyway, I did my “civic” duty and I’m glad I participated.  Now I guess I’ll be “off the hook” for another 10 years or unless I move again!

Last night I rode my scooter to the BB meeting.  After it was over it was dark.  I felt a little strange riding it after dark but realized that I needed to ride through the fear.  I got home safe and sound and now I’m thinking about riding it to church this morning.  I think I will.  It should stay dry today and it’s a nice ride early in the morning on a Sunday.  Our October weather has been fantastic the last few days.  Right now it is 72 degrees.  By the time church is done, it will be about 88 or so.  I’d like the weather to stay in the 70’s.  It would be nice to live somewhere that kept that temperature all year long.  But I’ll take it here.  We have those temperatures for about 4 months down here in Florida.

I went to a “farmers market” yesterday.  They pop up all over during the winter “season” around here usually beginning in October.  A friend of mine was selling his “cookies”.  Although I’m staying away from sugar these days (I’ve started only eating 1600 calories a day).  I’m using my “health app” to monitor it.  I’ve found some “healthy” snacks on line that I got yesterday.  Made from chicken and they are full of protein and only 60 calories.  They are pretty good – Italian spices and romano cheese.  I also found a “nut” bar at Costco that is really good too.  All natural and very tasty.  They are 200 calories though, but already, I’m feeling less hungry each day.  My goal is to lose 15 pounds.  We’ll see – I’ll let you know how it goes.  I’ve also got an order of Probiotics that I’m going to start taking if my doctor says they are good for me.  I see him next month so I’ll keep you posted on that too.  But back to the farmers market.  This one was mostly a bunch of people selling junk.  But there was a nice plant I bought for $15.  I put it at my garage door:

I put it by the garage where my “Hairy Old Man” plant was located.  The Hairy Old Man is looking pretty sad these days.  I’m thinking the spot is too sunny for him so I’m trying him in a new location that doesn’t get much sun.  The hedges do really well there, so maybe this will “perk” him up.  Here are 2 pictures – “before & after”.

I moved my hose around so I can water my plants easier.  I think I’ll go and buy a “hose” holder so I can put it up on the wall.  But then installing that into concrete is not my forte!  Maybe I’ll get Roy to stop over to do that.  Anyway, it’s a work in progress!  I also bought a “timer” for my lights out front and it worked like a charm.  It’s set for “dusk to dawn” so now I don’t need to plug and unplug my “jack o lanterns”.  Same goes for the Christmas lights.

Well I’m over my 1000 word limit so I better get going.  Time to dry my hair and get going to church.  Thanks for visiting!
