Well today is:
Friday the 13th
I’m just glad it is FRIDAY! It’s only been a 4 day week for me which is kinda nice. Lily took Veteran’s Day off and so that was kind of another day off for me. I got to “catch-up” on a lot of things. I’m discovering something interesting at work these days. I seem to be able to work really hard until about lunch time and then the afternoon is not as productive. I’m thinking about cutting back. If I begin to get my SS from Beirne’s account, then I can cut back to part time. Only thing is – I want the insurance so that would mean 30 hours a week. I couldn’t do my current position but maybe I could do something part time at Grey Oaks. The problem I’m going to find though is that I’ll need to train my replacement. I’ll need to try to do that with a positive attitude. That’s gonna be difficult. I’m also thinking about the piles of old charts that need to be filed away. In the 5 years that I’ve worked at Orchid Terrace, there has only been once that we needed to pull files and that was because of the lawsuit against Sunshine Pharmacy and Medicare Fraud. Those files are still in their “bags” which could probably be shredded. I’ll need to start talking with Lily about my “exit” strategy. But first I’ll meet with John on the 24th to make a determination about it. Of course I’ll only hear what I want to hear and probably do my own thing anyway. I’m stubborn that way and I know it. One of my character defects!
This weekend is fairly quiet. I’m going to go to the BlueZones event on Saturday. I may ride Red2 there. It’s straight up Livingston and this weekend is supposed to be “cooler”. I sure hope so. Also, Dick and Doug get to town this weekend with Duncan! That’s gonna be fun! They haven’t seen Ty yet and I’m not sure they’ve seen Red2 in person. I may need to ride her up to see them on a Sunday after church since I’m more that halfway there already! Then I’m getting my hair cut and I really should vacuum the house since I didn’t do it last weekend when I had that extra day off. Big Book meeting Saturday night – I’m “in charge” this month (with a little help from Heather). Then there is church on Sunday. Pretty uneventful otherwise. It’s getting closer to Thanksgiving this way. I think I mentioned that I’ll be having an extra day off since I won the day off for the Heart Association Raffle. I’m wondering what Jon and Ale are doing over Thanksgiving. I could go over there for a day or 2. We’ll see.
