Hello World and Bill and Cathy and beyond!

So today is chilly!  We are at 59 degrees!  I love that temperature.  But the cats don’t.  Metaxa didn’t even go out on the front porch today and is hunched down with me at the table!  First, this is what we woke up to today:

This is just in time for Thanksgiving!  Gotta love that!  But it’s snowing in other parts of the US so I’m happy I live in Florida!

Here is Metaxa telling me she is cold:  (My computer must be cold too – it’s taking a long time to down load):

Today is the last day for me at work this week.  I’ve got tomorrow off because I won the raffle at work and Larisa (Head of HR) is going to do my job.  But before I can take the day off I have to finish the dreaded schedule.  It’s only partially done.  It’s really terrible.  The nurse’s schedule is mostly done.  The RCA schedule is a mess!  But I am determined to finish it today!  We’ll see!

After work today, I’m meeting with John Beane so we can work out a strategy for my retirement.  At least that is what I’m hoping for.  I’d like to choose the first of the year or perhaps I’ll wait until my anniversary in February.  I can talk about it with Lily at my eval.  So maybe I’ll wait until March and retire just as my girlfriends come to town.  We can celebrate.   All kinds of possibilities!

Yesterday I went to Costco with my rebate check and down graded my membership.  So now I have just a regular membership and it didn’t cost me anything to renew.  Somehow the woman said that they owed me money and with the rebate check, I didn’t have to pay anything for the membership.  Not sure how that worked, but I’m happy about that.  Once the American Express deal is over, I won’t be going there as often.  I do like a couple of items there, like TB and Paper Towels and Kind Bars etc.  I’ve stopped buying cashews once I found out how many calories were in 1 oz of cashews (350!!!!).  So not eating them as often (which was every morning for my breakfast break).  Now they are a random snack until the jar is finished.

So I’ll have 5 days off of work this week.  That is so awesome.  I’m still not sure what I’m doing for that entire time.  I’m not really planning anything at this point, but have various commitments.  Saturday night BB Meeting.  Sunday Church set up and Communion.  Thanksgiving will be at the 24 Hour Club for the 1 PM speaker and dinner.  I’ll get turkey that way.  Don’t think I’ll be shopping on Friday with all of the crazies.  May take a run to the Greenway or to The Botanical Gardens.  I think they’ll be open.  But then again, I may take my bike out to that place on the trail where you can ride your bike or I may go up to Sanibel.  Don’t know what Doug and Dick are doing.  But we haven’t connected yet except by a couple of text messages.  So I’m not sure what they are doing.  I want to clean the upper portion of my porch (lanai) that Roy didn’t do the other day.  Not sure I’ll move all the furniture out, but could at least sweep up the area.  I’m not going to use the pressure washer though.  I need to get rid of the kitty litter out there.   It’s nice to be able to open up the porch slider and leave it open in this cooler weather.  I hope it stays cool for the rest of the week.  As shown above, it is supposed to be cooler for that time.  Time will tell!  But it looks like there is no rain in the forecast!  That is super!

So the New Attitudes Club has a new home!  That is good news for the AA community in my neighborhood.  I think I’ll get involved a little more there.  It’s close by my house and I have a short scooter ride there.  I’ll just see how it goes.

So I’ll leave you with this picture today:
