#282 Good Morning Tuesday, December 15, 2015

Hello everyone!

So I’m now aware that there are “others” who check this site.  I had 10 messages in the “spam”.  All from out of the country trying to get me to buy all sorts of clothes and shoes etc.  I’m glad I have this set up with a spam blocker!  The other day I saw this cute picture that I wanted to save for Wylie.  Here it is:

This reminded me of Florida!  I’m glad I live in this state and especially in this town.  I’ve lived here since 1974!  That’s 42 years!  Wow!  Time flies!  Now I could be considered an “old timer” I suppose.  Lot’s of changes have happened here.  But I wouldn’t want to move.  I feel safe and I’m very happy here.  I love my new house and now that I have a new scooter and car, I’m set for a while!  Life is GOOD!

Busy week for me this week.  Tonight I have our monthly Grapevine Meeting.  I hope to have 5 of 6 people there.  Then tomorrow night will be the District 20 meeting.  I hope people show up for that.  I haven’t been impressed by the committee members.  They never go to the Intergroup Meeting and I seem to be the only one that reports there for The Grapevine.  I hope they will all be there tomorrow night.  At least I sent out enough reminders!  I think I’m up to 3 or 4 reminders.

Heather and Ralph are in New Zealand.  Heather is from there and she has lots of friends and family there.  They won’t be back until New Years Day.  It’s a long flight!  I’m sure they will be wiped out when they return.  I’m not sure I have that wanderlust in me.  I can’t see me traveling like that!  Ale and Jon are in Chile right now.  They are also travellers.  I’m pretty much a “home body”.  But having 3 cats is a bit of a responsibility and not an easy thing to manage.  Ralph and Heather have Erica staying in their house.  Maybe I could get her to stay with my cats if I ever go anywhere.  But my neighbor is willing to come over and feed them for me.  They seem to genuinely like the cats.  They don’t do much travelling.  There is a new woman living there.  She introduced herself to me the other night but it was a little dark and I didn’t quite get her name.  I’ll have to make an effort to figure out who she is.  I guess she is Christian’s girlfriend.  I don’t see them otherwise.  We have different schedules.  I did notice that they have some plants in their lanai.  I noticed them the other day when I was outside bringing in the kayak that I’m storing for Roy and Steve.  Here is a picture of it:

It’s heavy.  I’m thinking about buying a smaller kayak that I can carry, but along with that I have to get a life jacket, oar and rack for TY.  So it would be pretty expensive.  I think I’ll go to The Conservancy and see if I like kayaking and will spend $10 an hour for the use of theirs.   Plus they have group tours that might be fun to go on.  That would be cheaper than getting my own and then not using it like I had hoped to do.  Maybe when I “retire” I’ll buy one, but maybe not!

My scooter is going to be paid off tomorrow and I paid off my credit card a couple of weeks ago.  Now I’m going to try to just pay them off each month to “stay even”.  We’ll see how that goes.  Always a good intention and attempt.  But it seems that it always “creeps” up on me.  I really know I spend a lot of money.  So I guess I’ll keep working for at least another year.  I have to do that in order to not worry about how much I make.  But I think once I “step back” and work part time, even that will become a burden.

Well, I’ve run out of time this morning.  Just a little “rambling” today.  Thanks for visiting!  Come back again!
