Good Morning everyone! New post, new week, new month! This was today’s sunrise:

I was noticing that with this HEAT, we had not had many pretty sunrises or sunsets. Jack said the sunset last night was pretty. I didn’t see it, but I was up for this morning’s sunrise. It was pretty!
This week is CAMPING IN SHOW LOW week! YAY! These are the temperatures we should have. I’m going Thursday to Sunday:
GLORIOUS! It will still be triple digits in Mesa.
SO glad to be getting some relief. I’m taking Metaxa with me. Here is a picture of where we were last year:

This is a picture of the campground:

I’m in Ruddy Duck #6 – it looks like a double site again (actually, I’m in Ruddy Duck 6 which is a single long site with a great view of the lake from the firepit) but I’m hoping I have a view of the lake which is really low this year and they are not letting motorized boats use the boat ramp. So we’ll see how it goes. I was in 14 last year and shared the site with others. It was OK, not perfect, but time will tell.
Changed the cover photo on my phone:
Much cuter without the bathroom fixtures!
Great video of all 3 kitties in DAISEE2 while waiting for the inspection of our Tucson townhouse.
I’ve been having trouble getting into this website. I think I’ve resolved it, but you never know. I had to go to Host Gator. I sure would hate to lose this thing. But time will tell.
Jack and I aired up the tires on DAISEE2 in anticipation of my trip to Show Low tomorrow. I’m looking forward to getting OUT OF THE HEAT!
My cousin Dick died yesterday. I got a call from Luann and she told me he was having some problems since his hip surgery. He fell a while back and broke his hip. Anyway I am sorry to hear about that. He was 77:

I honestly thought Doug would go before Dick. Now Doug is in bad shape – 24 hour nursing care. It’s bad, but I think they have the money for whatever comes. At least I hope they do. Thank goodness for Luann!
I need to do these things:
The first one I do, just drink coffee for breakfast. But I do eat turkey bites most mornings. I’m just not a “breakfast” person – never have been as an adult. I go out to breakfast on Sundays with Jack because he LOVES breakfast!
Beginning this again on Thursday, August 14th and I’ve made it to Fool Hollow State Park in SHOW LOW! I left at 8:15 and got here at 11:30. Not supposed to be here until 2PM but my site was clear so they let me in without paying the day fee. So I saved $10 and I got an extra 1/2 day here. The temperature is 90 outside and 88 inside DAISEE2. I have lots of fans going. The one over the kitchen is in a bad spot because there is a sun spot on my arm as I type this. Metaxa is relaxing:

I am in Site 6 of Ruddy Duck. It is a long site – easily fit DAISEE2 and RED. This would be a great trip for the Kitties and Jack and me to get out of the heat in July or August next summer. I am going to try to get a reservation here for next JULY – let me see if I can do that. I’ll be back. Got Site 6 for July 31 – Aug 5, 2026. Gonna try with the kitties and Jack.

This is my site #6. I LOVE IT! Here is my view out the back and side to the lake!

I am so happy to be here. I’m going to look for property up here to spend the summer – June, July & August for the future. It is so lovely. I just wish the lake would get filled. WE NEED RAIN!
I filled up in Payson at $3.13 – $74.38.

It took this, but I’m level:

I took a walk down to the boat ramp. It is really low this year:

It’s 3:15 now and it started to rain. I did get a small walk in. We’re over 6,000 Feet. I have the exact one. I’ll put it in here.

Trying this awning for the rain for the first time. It feels glorious. Says it’s 85 outside, but I think it could be cooler than that. Not sure if we’ll have a happy hour if the rain doesn’t stop. It’s an hour away so who knows.
Look at these temperatures! SO GREAT!

The view from our firepit:

Good morning everyone! It is Friday, August 15, 2025. These are our temps this morning:

Looks like we’ll get a bunch of rain today. I have my awning out now hoping it will dry a little but who knows. Can’t really tell if it’s dry.
Waggle is working today – I had to reset it as always, but it takes about 3 tries and I get it:

Look how great this camera is. Taxi on my lap! I love this camping thing! My neighbors just left and it’s only 7AM. So the person coming in today for spot 5 can get in before 2 if they get here early!
I went on the Nature hike this morning. It was pretty interesting:

This is a rock with a design hammered into it from the original family – the Adair family that settled the area – with a cowboy and child and lasso:

We learned a lot on the walk. Especially how important fires are to the Ponderosa Pine. This pine grove goes through New Mexico and Colorado as well as Arizona and it is the largest Ponderosa Pine establishment in the WORLD!
Today is Saturday, August 16, 2025. I’m up early because we are going kayaking today. These are my temps this morning:

It is a beautiful morning. I have my awning out and I’m trying to dry it. I have a tent camper to my left and a nice Class C Tiffin to my right. The ones on the right have a little kid there – looks about 3.
So I’m doing this today – another great use of this long site: Sun is coming up – you can see it through the trees!

I was dreading pumping up the kayak, but now that I’m this far, I’m looking forward to doing it. Shannon and Alice and Elna are going kayaking about 8:30.

Donna B., and Linda joined us too. First time for Linda – also, first time Linda joined us on a rally. She is ex-Military too – husband recently died. She travels in a Class C with her Aussie dog.

I didn’t get close enough with this picture either, but it was left to right: Linda, Alice & Elna, Shannon and Donna B.
Then we might go into town to the Farmer’s Market, but maybe not. We have the grilling pot luck tonight. We played FARKEL last night – it was a blast. I tried to use my fancy telescoping light but it needed to be charged up so it wouldn’t stay on last night. I’ve charged it so we’ll see how it works tonight if we play again. Maybe Left, Right, Center!
Took another picture inside DAISEE2 with Metaxa on my lap:

We took off Kayaking at 9AM got back at 11:30 AM – It was BEAUTIFUL! Here are a few pictures from the adventure:

Alice and Elna live in MESA and they are over 80. They are our inspiration. They travel in a Wolf Pup Travel Trailer. They are AMAZING!
This is Shannon – I need to ZOOM in on her, I couldn’t do it this morning.

Shannon took these pictures!

A flock of Canadian Geese flew over head this morning, sure wish I was quicker with my camera. It was very cool. Then I saw an Eagle flying too, missed it also! Lots of Cormorants.
I took a video of the group:
For some reason you have to copy the link into a browser. So sorry! This next one is Metaxa in the rig and you need to copy it into a browser also. Not sure why that is – sorry again!
We played Left Right Center this afternoon. It was a BLAST. I almost won!

Donna ended up winning: $15.00 in quarters!

We had a great pot luck today. Doesn’t look like I took any pictures of that, but is was really good. We grilled and then had side salads. It was really good! There is a Ranger talk about foxes tonight in about an hour, but I don’t think I’m going to go. It’s time to chill with Metaxa. I’ve put the water away, the step away, the matts away and the broom away. I just have my night lights and the STARLINK to put away and unplug in the morning. The kayak is put away in the above storage so I just need to put this computer, some fans and a few other things away and I’ll be ready to take off. I don’t have to be gone until 11 but I’ll probably pull out around 9 or so. We’ll see. The campground is totally booked this weekend. It is nice to see that. This is a fantastic campground. There is so much space between sites. If I ever try to be a camp host, I’d love to do it here for June, July and August. That probably will never happen, but you never know. Never say never!
Jack and Lloyd did a little project today – moved the overhead light to under the carport:

Great job gentlemen!
This is the last day of our rally at Fool Hollow, I’ll be leaving this morning. It has been a great rally. Lots of fun and a smaller group is always wonderful. Here are my departing temperatures:
