Good Morning World,
It’s been a while since I blogged. Not much happening out of the ordinary, but I now have 2 more sponsees. Mia and Jayne. Mia is in the program at Justin’s Place. She has come to the Saturday night BB meeting at the Naples Group twice because I pick her up. She asked me to be her sponsor at the Thursday night Cookie Meeting. I’m still trying to get to know her. She said to me last night that she doesn’t consider herself a “true alcoholic” and that she blames her problems on the “environment” she is in. She has 2 kids living with their father in Minnesota. One is 16 and the other is 8 – a girl and a boy. She had her daughter when she was 16 so she is 32 now. I think this is going to get me to call my sponsor Amy more often to discuss how to approach her. My other sponsee is Jayne. She just recently moved back to Naples and she must have been a member of the WSW group because that was the email I had for her. Anyway, I haven’t had much time with her. I think I’ll call her to see if she wants to meet and ride together to the 7PM meeting tonight. We’ve tried to get together but she didn’t make it to the Thursday night meeting and I didn’t make it to the Friday afternoon meeting. She has a counselor she sees a lot. Her husband is abusive and she came down here to get away from him. She own’s a condo on County Barn Road which sounds like it is paid for. She is young enough to get a job. She had a high paying position in Insurance up north. I’m still getting to know her. I don’t think I’m a very good sponsor though. I haven’t been through a 4th step with Haven yet and we’ve been sponsor/sponsee for a number (3 or 4) years. The last time I really did a 4th step was with Judy and that was in my 1st year so that’s 13 years ago. I guess it is time again. So enough about that for now. More will be revealed.
Now on to Cierra! I really love her. I just got her out of the shop for the 2nd time and then the other day I tried to ride her to the 5:30 meeting and she wouldn’t start, so I left her in the driveway and I rode Red2 to the meeting. After the meeting Shane and Ron came over to help me get her into the garage and I was trying to figure out how I was going to get her to the shop again but this time I would have needed a tow truck. Fortunately, Shane discovered the connection wasn’t tight enough on the new battery. So that was great. Yesterday I rode her to the 8AM meeting. Afterward she wouldn’t start again. So fortunately Roy was there to help. He took the battery out and tightened the other connection and that was the problem. There is a lot of vibration on a Harley so it shakes it loose. I took it to Everglades yesterday thinking I could get a new set of handles, but Michelle said it is very complicated to get that done. So anyway, now my decision is whether I keep both Red2 and Cierra or sell Red2. If I did that I could pay off my credit cards which I want to do. But then beginning in December I’ll be getting my extra $1100 from Social Security. For the first 3 months, I’ll put that entire thing toward my credit cards and I’ll have them paid down. I could do it for the first 6 months and all the better. Anyway I’m not in a rush to make a decision. I still need to remember that I’ll be spending money out in Yellowstone. I will probably get money from John Beane after my September vacation.
So now I’m going to go get ready for church. Something weird is going on there. I can’t really be sure, but I think Michael & Stephanie are fighting. More shall be revealed about that too.
