RV Life with DAISEE2 #153 Wednesday, December 10, 2025

I’ve made it to AMADO for the RVW Annual Christmas Celebration! I think this is my 4th year doing this. I really love it. I left this morning at 8:15 and I got here at 11:30. It is now 1:30 and I am set up, STARLINK connected and water and electric all set. My awning is out and I have a nice view of the pretty mountains here out my back window. I have “strangers” beside me to drivers side (which is fine because the sun beats down on that side and I’ve kept my reflextic in the window to keep the heat out) and the people behind me are in a big CLASS A. Not sure if they are there or not. Dagmar is to my passenger side so I’m not alone in this row. Cindy is down the road a little. The woman on my driver’s side is Bobby. She travels alone and has the biggest window on the side of her rig that I’ve ever seen. She loves it. Travels to work.

The sites are really big and the electric and water are very convenient to the rig. I also have sewer which I will hook up later in the week. No need to do that now. It is 81 inside DAISEE2 with fans running. Metaxa is settling in. She is on the bed “resting”!

I filled up in Tucson and it was $67. Price of gas was $2.99. I love this ride down here from MESA and I enjoy driving through Tucson down Oracle that goes by Catalina State Park. It is the way we will come at Christmas when we drive DAISEE2 to Benson to spend the night at Bill and Cathy’s. That’s going to be interesting!

I finally got the Waggle Camera to work after calling them. I was putting the wrong password in for the camera. You can see Metaxa on the BED! Time to take a nap until 4PM and Happy Hour!

My weather station is working now! YAY! Got back from Card Bingo and it isn’t working now, but I did split one pot of nickels – got 16 nickels! It is now 7:50 PM and I’m having an ice cream sandwich and Metaxa is on my lap. All is well!

Good Morning everyone. It is Thursday, December 11, 2025. These are my temps this morning. It was 42 when I got up, but has warmed to 48 now. The sun is on that side of the rig. I woke up and turned on the furnace in the middle of the night and dragged out my radiator. It is still on HIGH and it is 63 now inside. I’ll turn it off shortly. I want to plug it in to a different spot. ANYWAY – today is a “free” day for me. I don’t want to go to Tubac for the tour and I don’t have anything to do until 2 when we play Left, Right, Center. It’s so much fun and I could win some money! Need to take my quarters!

I skipped my meeting today (sorry Jeff) and woke up at 7:30. Looked out my window and saw Dags and Cindy walking their dogs in 42 degree temperatures. Thank you Metaxa for being a CAT! Took my first sip of coffee at 8:15! It tastes SO GOOD!

Went on a walk with Shannon this morning:

Then we booked our hotel rooms and rental car for YNP:

Shannon and I went to Tubac today. We stopped by this place, but it was $10 to get in, so we passed.

This was just across the street:

Then we drove back to Tubac and walked around. I bought a vase for the back wall at home and a sticker for my book, plus Gelato. It was a great day to walk around but it did get a little hot. It is cooling off now. It is 3:30 and we just finished playing Right, Left, Center. So much fun. I didn’t win!

The first round took forever because there were 20 of us. It was a nice pot to win, but took too much time. For the second round we split up. I didn’t win that one either. Lost $1.50!

The temps inside are with the electric heater on all night and on 1 this morning, but I have the door open and a cat on my lap so it’s all good! You can see our notes about hotel rooms and rental car for YNP for JUNE!

Playing music and enjoying the coffee this morning. Waiting for the rig cleaners. I’m hoping to go on the hike but won’t if the rig isn’t finished. I should be here when they come to be sure all is well and it will make Jack happy!

They did a great job. ALMOST skipped the big driver side window. I’m glad I was here to watch them. The guy that was on the roof said it was in great shape. I don’t need to worry about it being resealed. It looked good to him. SO GLAD!

This is another video of their work!

Shannon went on the hike. She sent some pictures – it looked like a great hike!

Good Morning.  It’s Saturday, December 13th.  It’s our meeting day.  I’m up at 7AM.  Metaxa was bothersome last night so she is still “in bed”!  These are the temps today:

I need a new weather station because the outside temperature is stuck on 58. I think the inside temperature is still working. Let’s see what WAGGLE says. 60 per Waggle.

We woke up to this beautiful sunrise this morning. I took the picture from my bed out of the beautiful, clean window: Jack said it was pretty in MESA also:

This is BOO, Madeline’s dog. She sits in that window all the time. So cute. Her rig got washed and waxed also. It looks fantastic!

We had a great Happy Hour yesterday. It’s a great group of ladies! Today we have our annual meeting and our gift exchange tonight. Plus we’re going out to dinner all together! 38 of us and we’re paying with our Chapter VISA. Hope I don’t forget to bring it. I think I’ll get it right now!

We had our annual meeting and I finally got home at 12:30 from that meeting and the meeting after the meeting. So now we’re waiting to go to LONGHORN for early dinner. I’m drinking a baby coke and eating trail mix. Cat on my lap! Life is good.

Here are pictures of the group for the meeting:

Here is a picture of the outgoing (Madeline) and incoming (Marge) President of AZ Chapter of RVW:

We went to LONGHORN again for dinner and RVW paid for it. It was delicious!

After dinner we had our annual GIFT EXCHANGE. It was fun because we were tossing dice and we were in a circle which worked better than at the tables. Patty Prather was SANTA!

This is what I won this year:

I made it to my meeting on Sunday morning:

Bill, Cathy and Winston went camping to Kartchner Caverns for a “shake down cruise” in the new rig!

It’s a lazy day today. Here are the kitties resting together:

We had a beautiful sunset last night:

I had been complaining about our vacuum cleaner. It finally died. SO we bought a SHARK through Amazon for $130 and it arrived yesterday morning at 6:15AM! Gotta love Amazon! Boy or boy! What a machine. You should have seen all of the stuff it picked up yesterday. It was amazing. It’s heavier than the Dyson, but works so well. It even has an attachment to use to get the hair off of the couch! I LOVE IT! It did a fantastic job on our rug and that was what I was hoping for. We’re so excited about that brand, that Jack ordered a hand held one too. Now my life is complete!

Cathy sent this great picture of Winston and their tree yesterday:

We are not going to Benson for Christmas. I 10 is under construction there and it MAY rain, so we don’t want to drive the rig there this year. We’re going to The Black Bear Diner instead. I’m glad about that. Wasn’t looking forward to sharing DAISEE2 – I know SELFISH!
