RV Life with DAISEE2 #156 Thursday, January 15, 2026

Good Morning Everyone.  I decided to start a new blog today because the last one (the first one in 2026) got a little long.  Yesterday, I took a walk in the neighborhood while Jack was out with his car buddies at lunch,

It got a little warm, but was a nice day for a stroll. I think I’ll go to the gym today. I have cans to recycle and it is warmer today (in the 50’s rather than the 40’s). I thought I would need to go to VERIZON today because yesterday my phone would not work. It was on SOS and I couldn’t make any calls and no calls could come through. Come to find out there was a NATIONWIDE Verizon outage due to a server in NEW JERSEY!!!!!!!! Anyway, it seems to be fine now and came back on line last night. Made me appreciate how important it is for me to have a phone! Especially since I’m “on the road” a lot with DAISEE2!

Starting this again on Friday, January 16, 2025. It’s Bill Strenkert’s birthday! Also Katt’s as I found out today by a post by Dave Lang. It is also the start of our community Garage Sale. Keith is participating again this year and we’re taking over a couple of items we want to get rid of!

Alice and Elna hosted a Murder Mystery Dinner last night. I was “Twyla” and here is my outfit: I owned a trailer park but I wasn’t the murderer!

I really do not care for those kind of things and I pulled off this outfit about 30 minutes before I needed to leave. Donna Brandsey was there along with Char and her partner from Vegas (they are going to move to Mesa), Barb Cramer and her friend Laura (Red Travato). I can never remember Char’s partner’s name and I forget which one is which – old age. ANYWAY, it was a nice evening but I won’t do it again. Don’t like those things. Plus I drove home in the dark from a place I didn’t know so it was a little stressing. But all in all I was glad when it was over and I got home around 8 PM. First time I’ve done anything “social” in quite a while. It feels weird!

Yesterday, Zena and Ziggy were relaxing in the Arizona room while we had coffee – too cold to sit outside:

They are SO CUTE!

I saw another great Regional Park to go and visit and maybe stay – it is dry camping and is only 30 minutes from home:  The Peralta Regional Park:

Beginning this again on Friday, January 23, 2026. Jack decided (a while ago) to sell the TBird. He was waiting for the big car show in Scottsdale at Barrett Jackson which is this weekend. So we put an ad on FB Marketplace and Craigs List around noon on Thursday. WELL…….low and be hold I started getting “action” on it right away. Good idea to do it now. Anyway, we were contacted by a guy named Colin Comer and he put a $500 deposit on it site unseen! REALLY?????

So about an hour later, he stopped by and inspected it and Jack and he made a deal. APPARENTLY he is a big car dealer out of Milwaukee. He’s written a bunch of books and has some YouTube videos, so he is “almost” famous. So in 5 hours, we SOLD THE TBIRD! It is still in our garage until Colin makes arrangements to pick it up with one of his trailers. Life is interesting! I’m going to see if I can get a video of him from YouTube. We figured he is about 55 or so. He’s buying it for his wife!

Beginning this again on Monday, January 26, 2026. I went for a walk yesterday:

We go to breakfast on Sundays so I skip the gym. Felt like walking yesterday afternoon so walked around the block twice. Almost 2 miles. It’s a little boring! But I did it.

Still doing jigsaw puzzles on my iPad. Here is one from yesterday.

I still enjoy doing them and I listen to YouTube videos while I do them. I lie on the couch and Metaxa sleeps on my belly. It’s very relaxing!

We had a little excitement this morning. A lost dog was hiding under DAISEE2:

It was a really cute little dog. A woman followed it from Power through the neighborhood and it ended up hiding under DAISEE2. We finally coaxed it out into the back yard:

I’m glad we had a fenced in back yard. We finally corralled it by the trash can and got it into a carrier. He is now at the Humane Society. The woman took him in her carrier. It was so cute. Could have been a great little pet. So that was our excitement today!

Elisha sent me this follow up on this sweet boy. She was the one who “captured” him and followed him through the neighborhood eventually cornering him in our back yard:

Starting this again on Friday, January 30, 2026. Wow! January is almost over! I opened this blog and there were no messages. I deleted the blog that they were using to send messages which was Labor Day of 2016. I don’t know how that happens, but it’s refreshing not to have to delete them all.

Yesterday, Jack and his buddies took a ride to Tortilla Flat for lunch. They opened it up to the women also so I went along. It was great. There were 20 of us and about 15 cars – a few Hot Rods too. I didn’t take any pictures of them though. But we did get a group picture with 15 of us in it:

There were 20 of us though. Anyway, I looked down the road before we stood for this picture and I saw a JEEP with American Flags on the door. I’m thinking…….hey that’s Bill and Cathy (and Winston) and Lo and Behold it was! And Rich too, in his Jeep. They drove up the Apache Trail from Roosevelt Lake. They went camping at the Cholla Campground. I need to map it – Cathy says it’s only 1.5 hours from us. Anyway, here is a picture of their site – no hookups:

But what are the chances that we would meet like that! Amazing. Anyway, I’m going to check it out one day. The campground is on Lake Roosevelt.

Today is the last day of January, 2026. Now on to February where I’ll be travelling to Cattail Cove State Park with RVW! Looking forward to that!

I’m in site #38.

Yesterday I got my new rocking chair for the porch. It’s not the right color (looked more brown in the picture) and it is a little stiff. I’ll need to get used to it. But we put the old rocker on the street as “FREE” and it was picked up in 10 minutes! So funny!

I should try this place – looks amazing. vanlifemeow stayed there in January, 2026. Road in is harsh: Ironwood Forest National Monument.
