RV Life with DAISEE2 #160 Thursday, March 12, 2026

I have arrived at Lost Dutchman State Park.  It’s 90 degrees right now, 87 in the rig.  TOO HOT, but we’ll survive.  The breeze is pretty good.  I have 5 fans running.  My STARLINK is set up and I can blog.  That is what is important to me!  Here is my view:

I’m in the same spot as last year, only I’m facing OUT this time toward the mountain.  Here I was last year:

Just texted Sue to see if she is here yet.  She has a site with electric and water.  I think I’m going to miss the A/C this year.  Last year we did this:

I brought wood for the fire, but not sure if it will be used.  I think I’ll keep it in the rig until we NEED it, otherwise I’ll keep it for another time.  Sherrie is in the IMAGINE and is in the same spot as last year.  Waiting for Marge to arrive in her new rig.  Robbin and Madeline are in sites with electric.  This is my view from my table inside.  I love these windows!  They are on the right side and are in the shadow.  I’ll go out and take a picture of my set up.  I have my awning out to shade the otherside, although it isn’t working all THAT well.  I’m going to close this down right now to save electric.  I’ll add more later as the night progresses.  See you later!  But this is my view out of my table windows – the GREAT BIG WINDOWS!

We have about 22 rigs this year.  Here are a couple of the areas – there is more space between the rigs.  I can have my awning out and my generator is out the side away from my neighbor.  I’m back from Happy Hour and I’m running my generator (5 to 7) and I’m trying to see how my battery banks charge up.  The A/C blew once so far, I still have the windows open.  Here are my temps right now:

I had to put 2 new batteries in the outside weather station.  I’m assuming it’s working.  I’m thinking I may lower my A/C.  Lowered it to 79.  It feels pretty good.

Here is my rig this year from the circle:

I think there are about 22 rigs and 40 or so women.  I’ll get a better count as time goes on.

Happy Hour Day 1.  7 women from the Lite Hearts RVW Chapter are camping here also this weekend.  What a nice surprise.

One more at Happy Hour!

More Rigs:  Marie and her friend (Janet) are the two on the right.  Diane and Peg are far left.

This is my row.   Me, I forget my neighbors – 2 women with the same name, but one goes by Pinky, then Genie and Karen Hostetter and last one, Karen B:

Gonna close this down now.  I’ll pick it up later perhaps.  We’ll see.  Gonna go to TRIVIA.

Beginning again on Friday, March 13, 2026 – ooooo – Friday the 13th!  Anyway, here are my temps this morning:

Making coffee now.  Waiting for Jack to wake up.

This is the sign in list.  There are many whom I do not know.  I hope some of the Lite Hearts show up today.  They seem really nice and it’s good to know people from other parts of the country in case I ever venture out.  Not seeing that, but you never know!

The ladies are beginning to gather this morning.  I think I’ll put on some sweat pants and go over and join them.  Not sure what I’ll be doing today.  I would like to hike a little, but it might get too warm to do that.  They do have a fire going this morning.  63 is cool enough for a fire I suppose.  ANYWAY, I’ll be back later!

This is my view from my rig this morning – Friday the 13th.

Using my solar panel to charge my tiny Bluetti:

I’m not sure it is working, but we’ll see after a while.  Robbin says solar takes a LONG time.  We’ll see.

Cindy has a screen that hangs down from her awning.  This is what she has.  It would come in handy lots of times.

I just counted the rigs – 21 now.  Linda Terres is supposed to come by today.  That would make 22.  We can have 29.  I like it not so tight on my line.  It’s more comfortable.  Valerie led YOGA:

Very impressive!

We had a Dutch Oven dinner tonight.  Chicken thighs, mac & cheese, Chili and cornbread and Shephard’s Pie.  It was all very delicious.  I took my cheesecake and there are 4 pieces left for tomorrow.  It was a great time.  Here is a picture of a couple of the ovens:

Sunset tonight:

My neighbors at Lost Dutchman were Nancy and Nancy (goes by Pinky).  They were really nice.  Had a cool rig too.

Beginning again on March 14th – Saturday!  Sue’s Birthday.  We’re going to tortilla flat for lunch and that is about the day.  Not much other going on, but it’s fun to have one like this once in a while.  Here are the temps this morning:

What a difference a year makes!

Here is another picture of last night’s sunset.  It was really RED:

Here we are celebrating Sue’s Birthday:

This was my lunch – STREET TACOS:

I ate fried pickles for the first time – very tasty!

Notice the BIRTHDAY GIRL TOO!

Beginning this again on Sunday, March 15th – Beware the Ides of March!  These are our temperatures today:

You can see where I’ve hung my BEARS.  I used to hang them at the door, but that was in the way.  Now they are safely over the table!

Look at the MOON this morning.  It isn’t a good a picture as I would have liked:

Sunrise was beautiful today also:

Gonna try to get a reservation for HON DAH RV Park in July.  It’s in Pinetop and Madeline and Robbin are there in the summer.   Gonna close this down now.  Getting ready to leave.  Will undo the STARLINK now and then I’ll take off.  Probably around 10 or so.  I don’t think I can wait until 11, but we’ll see.  Thanks for visiting!

It is March 16, 2026 and I’m home now.  We had a great sunset last night:

I’m waiting for my new VISA Credit Card.  I got one while I was away, but I need to shred it because I have a new one coming.  I hope it comes today.  I have things to put on it.  I’m getting emails about updating my charge.  I’m happy that they credited me the $2200 from Thai Airways!  What a world we live in now!

RED turned 70K today:

Not bad for a 2006 JEEP Wrangler!

Starting this again on Wednesday, March 18th.  We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day yesterday by slow cooking some corned beef:

Here is the plated masterpiece:

I didn’t think I would like it all that much, but it turned out to be amazingly good.  So I’m a FAN!

I don’t have a good picture of Jack, so I think I’ll try to print this one of “The Deal” with Lloyd for this:

I’m going to Pinetop in July to visit Robbin and Madeline and to GET OUT OF THE HEAT.  I’m in site: 553 They are in Sites: 561 & 559.  I originally got Site #14, but it was really far away from them near the office.  I’ll be interested in seeing what this place has to offer in case I need a whole month away next year.  Time will tell!

I think this campground is near Dead Horse State Park where I’ll be next month.  Shannon (my driver) will be there too so we might go check it out:

Great sunset picture from Lost Dutchman!  Fire at Lost Dutchman!

Ziggy found his space!

Over Thanksgiving, Sue and I sent a picture of the sunset at the same moment – she was at Usery and I was at home.  I’ve been meaning to put this phenomenon in this blog.  I have it in another one also at the time it happened, but look at these two sunsets taken at the same moment in different locations!
