Good Morning everyone! This is a monumental post for a number of reasons. First of all it is my 900th post! WOW! That is over 11 years of having this website. Secondly, we just bought a house in Green Valley. The one we drove down to see on Friday, is now ours – pending the inspection. They had until 5pm today to let us know but they agreed before 5 yesterday! I’m so excited! I’m going to my meeting now and will be back to add pictures of our new home here. YIPPEE!!!!!!

This sculpture is right at the front door and is very cool. Apparently the owner of the house is quite an artist. You can tell she has wonderful taste and is talented. I love this bright sculpture. AND this was a nice surprise for us: A little outside foyer for the kitties:
We can open the beautiful front door and an open foyer to the outside is available with the security door to lock up so the cats can be out in the fresh air. In the future, we’ll screen in the back porch for a bigger outside space for us and the kitties! I love this tile. It is throughout the whole house – no carpeting except for rugs anywhere. I can’t wait to set up “our house” with our own stuff!
I love the dining room light fixture. It is very unique. That is the pass through from the kitchen. Jack wants to paint the blue wall a different color. Somehow he doesn’t like green and blue together in the same space. Go figure. I really like it – but compromise! It’s always a good thing. We’ll see what he comes up with. He’ll do the painting. That is Annie in the picture. I really like her. She is very professional and knowledgeable. I think she will be a good friend down there and she can give us contacts for landscaping and other things. Apparently, Ryan – our inspector – is also a Handiman!
This is the pass through from the kitchen side. The sink is just one big sink. Much better than the 2 sinks we have here. The appliances are all stainless and look brand new. The countertop is granite and very pretty. The cabinets look a little “old” and could use freshening up with paint, but not necessary right away. I think the TV stand we are using now can fit in the kitchen as a “sideboard”. That way we can use the “corner” cabinet for our TV.
We can put our little table here and the sideboard to it’s left. If it doesn’t fit in that space, we can put it to the right, although I hope it fits to the left.
Here is the living room. We will put our Lazy boys where the couch is here. Then we will put our couch under the window looking out to the back yard and mountains. It is the same set up that Jack had in Benson in his little house so we know it works. It will also open up the space somewhat. BTW it is a gas stove.
This is a built-in office space for Jack. It is very well done. I was worried about his “space”. He has a great one here in MESA. But he says this will work for him.
Here I am taking a picture of the guest bathroom. The owner must have a “weiner dog”. She has all kinds of indicators like the clock and painting in here. The toilets are switched out and higher than normal. That is very cool! I’m looking at medicine cabinets like the one I have here in MESA, but I may not need it. We’ll see. I like the green walls!
This is my office. My view is down the street. It is in the little “poke out” at the front of the house. It will be wonderful. Not sure which wall I’ll have the desk. I may put it in front of the window – but maybe not. We’ll see.
This is the living room now. I think our chairs will go where the couch is here and our couch will go under the window. Jack’s bar that is in the Arizona Room here in MESA will go in the inside foyer. I hope it won’t overwhelm it:

The wall is a pretty green. It looks darker in this picture, but it is nice. I like that there are just accent walls that are painted. And did I say I LOVE the dark tile throughout. It’s very unusual.
This is how the back yard looks. It is very expansive. We have two fruit trees by the A/C unit. ChatGPT thinks one is a lime tree and the other is a lemon tree. That will be fun. The driveway is 35 feet long so DAISEE2 can stay there for 72 hours, but we can put it in the street for up to 48 hours which will be easier on her since the drive is “uphill”. Plus we have this too:

I was thinking the path that is laid out in brick could be a meditating walk in the mornings. We’ll see!
We are getting excited about our rolling rally to Holbrook and then Farmington, NM next week. The program was sent out yesterday. It is very thorough and professional. I think Yvonne did it. Lot’s to do, but I’m glad I’m leaving on Thursday before the weekend. I need to cancel my trip to Patagonia in October – don’t really want to go there anyway, but we may be moving in October. Still not sure about storage for DAISEE2, but I think “A FAMILY” will be the one – although it is 15 minutes away and will be expensive – probably $150 a month. Another compromise!
Bill and Cathy want mom’s pots. We’re thinking of cleaning out!
