Good Morning Good People!
I am still in this beautiful place out west in Bozeman, MT. My hotel room overlooks the parking lot but in the distance are the beautiful mountains. What a trip I’ve had. I am so glad I did this. We even got a chance to see a couple of RV’s yesterday and I bought my “Yellowstone” Harley Shirt! It is much warmer (44 degrees now) and it will go up to 80 today here. I know I’m going back to 90 Degree weather in Florida. If I decide to do this RV thing, I may go out to Arizona and be with Bill and Cathy. That is a big change, but my thinking is that I’ve spent 40+ years in Naples, and I think my money will last longer out there. And we can go camping etc. Lot’s to think about.
Now more about my trip! Here are a few pictures of the beautiful scenery here:
We walked out to a lake and it was a 5 mile hike. It was great. I felt pretty good but realize that I’m out of shape. I need to walk more and get some “KEENE” shoes. My tennis shoes were fine, but those shoes would be better. They are like my Harley shoes, but all enclosed and they are rounded toes to allow for your toes to be comfortable.
I have a bunch of other pictures, but I don’t see them in my file, let me try to get them again from the email from Cathy.
We went for a long drive on Wednesday and drove along the Beartooth Highway. The first picture is of us at the Yellowstone Sign – like the one they took when Jon & Ale et al were here.
Let me see if I can get the one with Jon’s family in there:
We took it so that I could be photoshopped into their picture but none of us know how to do that!
I’m looking out of the window of my hotel room and it is another beautiful, sunny day! It is cloudy but the sky is so blue! It’s amazing and I can see the mountains from my room. I am staying in the Holiday Inn Express, in Belgrade. It looks like a “new” hotel and the room includes a free breakfast which was pretty good. I was happy that I could take a shower with as much running water as I wanted. The shampoo and soap containers are way too hard to squeeze. Bad items! But the rooms are NOT sound proof. The traffic sound was like the window was open. There is a railroad that sounds their horn as it goes through town. The room next to me had a crying dog in it, but it must have been temporary because it stopped crying, but they played “Head Banging Music” ALL NIGHT LONG! I finally put a pillow over my head and it muffled it out. Thank goodness for a comfortable bed and lots of pillows! The desk lamp did not work as the outlet wasn’t working. I had complained about it to the front desk, but nothing was done. So I called again and a long haired millennial named “DILLON” came up. He just unplugged the lamp and plugged it into another outlet, which I could have done. But he was pleasant and told me how to get to the airport – LEFT, RIGHT (passed the RR tracks), LEFT and I am there. I made a dry run yesterday and I think I’m good. Coming back though wasn’t so easy, but I got my mapping to work on my phone. It is only about a 15 minute drive so I have plenty of time this morning. I figure I can leave in 2 more hours and get there in plenty of time. So I think I’ll take another shower, dry my hair and take off before check out time.
So here is the look of Bear Tooth Mountain:
Another thing we did on Thursday was to drive down to Old Faithful. In the morning, though we got sleet and also there was a big water break under my “apartment”. I had a great time sleeping in their 1998 Lance camper trailer. I had to climb up onto the bed. It was really comfortable. The bathroom was really small. I had to step into the hall to pull up my pants! So funny. But I got a sense of want it was like to be in a small space. Bill has Hughs Net for internet. It is a big dish like Dish TV that he sets up. We all had internet so we could all be on our computers at the same time.
I took a video of the sleet out of the window of the RV. I would like to get the video on this, but I don’t know how to do that. I should learn that!
So back to our Thursday. We got a really special tour at the Old Faithful. Jen Decker is the manager of the property and Cathy worked with her a few years ago. She was actually her boss. Anyway, only about 300 people a year get the tour up to the roof of the Yellowstone Inn and we did it. They kept it a surprise for me. Bill had done it before, but Cathy had not. So here we are UP ON THE ROOF!
It was really amazing. We got our picture taken in the Crow’s Nest too. The music used to be played up there in the early days.
Well that is about all for now. I think I’ll get going. I’ll be home at midnight (at the RSW airport) and then home to the kitties! I miss them!
Thanks for visiting!
See you next time.
