Good morning everyone!
So today is the Gratitude Dinner at New Hope Church. I’ve been waiting for it to come so I can get on the road. I originally rented a Camper Van to try traveling & camping out. Canceled that one because I didn’t want to drive to Miami to pick it up & leave my car there for a week. Plus I was never going to buy a Camper Van – too much $$. Then I spoke to a woman at the airport on my way to Yellowstone who mentioned Outdoorsy to rent from that has a 48 Hour cancellation policy so I found a 26’ Class C Motor Home – a Chateau – that sleeps 6 in Golden Gate. I went out to see the Chateau with Bill Strenkert. It was about a 45 minute drive. Wow – Golden Gate is HUGE! Anyway, I sat in the drivers seat and felt a little overwhelmed, but thought I could do it. So next, I went to an RV Show in Charlotte County at the fairgrounds and Suzan and Bette & I walked through a bunch of RV’s. I found a great Winnie Mini. Here is a picture of it:
Great price and it comes with a shower and toilet. My JEEP could tow it without any issue and it is really well made and the floor plan was super. But still I could not do this……
And that is fit in my garage. I figure I’m saving at least $200 a month in storage fees. That is significant, plus it would be such a PIA to have to go to a storage place to hook up, then bring it home to pack up for the camping trip, and that would be bad. Now I get to keep it safely in my own garage and I won’t have to worry about damage to it when it was in storage. I love FB for the pages of groups that have this type of camper – “T@G You’re It”. I’ve been asking all types of questions and people respond right away. It is so cool. I’ve gotten a lot of ideas from them. It is great to have this community of like minded people……sound familiar? Just like AA!
More to come….got to go to a meeting. I’ll be back…..
Damn….I wrote a bunch of stuff here and since I am not good with the “built in mouse” I closed this out without saving where I had left off. So now let me see if I can remember what I was talking about…….good luck! Oh yes, I mentioned that I was sitting in Olivi@ with the doors wide open, the side windows open with the screens down, and no AC. It is 85 degrees today and it feels a little warm in the garage, but I don’t feel the need to turn on the AC. Don’t know if I’ll be able to do this at the campground due to flying insects. It is all a process. But I have determined I am going to bring this computer with me because I can type much better on a keyboard rather than on the iPad.
So I think I’m going to end this post for now. Thanks for visiting and send a comment if you are so inclined.
See you next time!
