Good Morning Everyone,
I was going to go back and edit my last post (#7), but decided no one wants to go back to a previous post, so I’m doing a fresh one this morning. It is really cold this morning:
Today is Friday, Day 4 of our excellent adventure. We are going to go to Lake June in Winter. Now that it is almost winter I get the name, but it remains the same all year long. I guess I’ll find out about the name later today. We are going to bring our left over food from last night. We went to our favorite Diner for dinner – sat in the same booth. It was a blast. I ate too much and had pie for dessert – the pumpkin cream pie. It was AMAZING. I also had eggplant parmesan which was HUGE so I only ate 1/2 of it. Here we are:
We all decided it would be cool for all of us to work at this diner. It would be fun, although I noticed most of the people working there were sweet, young girls so I doubt our team would be hired!
So I’m sitting in Olivi@ and thinking how cool it is to be able to reach everything I need from the bed. I’m typing on the table Suzan gave me, I can reach my coffee and I have my phone and iPad within reach. I have my iPad on to Post #7 in Wyliesavesme.com so I can reference what I posted yesterday – so that I don’t repeat myself. Wouldn’t want anyone to think I had gone off my rocker or anything………
I just re read my post from yesterday and saw that I intended to finish it last night. Well that did not happen. So here is one thing I noticed. I mentioned the 30 year old air plant and said I was going to post the picture. Now I’ve seen air plants like this in various places, but never thought about how old they are. Just another bit of trivia to clutter my already cluttered mind!
Another thing I learned on the tour yesterday was about alligators. The alligators are very interesting. The females can be up to 300 pounds but a male alligator can be up to 800 pounds. The baby alligators are born with teeth so that they can feed themselves. The mother alligator does not feed them. They have an enlarged tooth in front that breaks through the egg to be born. The mother alligator knows when the eggs are not fertilized so she will eat the unfertilized eggs for nourishment. If a baby alligator is having trouble breaking through the egg, she can hear them crying in the egg, she will pick up the egg in her mouth and crack it with her teeth to open the egg for the baby. As Kevin (our tour guide) mentioned, think about that. Alligators have the strongest jaws of any animal (he mentioned the PSI but I forget – something like 2000#’s?) and yet she can crack open her babies egg! Alligator mothers are ferociously protective of their babies. Also, alligators need to monitor their body heat. If they get too cold, the food in their stomach will not digest and they will die. I think that is about all I remember now, but it was very interesting.
So I’m thinking about Carolyn’s RV Life and beginning to understand how trying to work on the road can be frustrating. Especially if you need to rely on the internet. I’m finding it frustrating and I’m only doing this for fun!
I guess that is all for now. I’ll probably wait until I get home on Saturday to post again. We’ll see. I know I’ll be trying to figure out the best way to pack up so we can get on the road tomorrow to get home. I think first I’ll take down the awning this afternoon. I don’t think it is going to rain today. I am going back to work at Fresh Market on Monday for 6 hours and then I’m working 5 hours on Thursday. I will be done by 3 each day! Casey is so nice to me, I can’t quit on him. But I’ll want to clean up and clean out Olivi@ but I’ll take my time – after all I’m retired now!
Thanks for visiting! Come back again!
