Hello everyone,
Again I have awakened to 66 degree weather today. FANTASTIC! But Metaxa went out on the front porch and came back in – too cold for her? If I could live somewhere that had highs and lows in the 60’s I’d do it. I love that temperature!
I have a friend at work that is an RCA (Resident Care Assistant). She posts on FB her steps at work. Yesterday she had over 20K steps – that was 13+ miles – AT WORK – must have been a very busy day yesterday. Makes me feel like a “slacker” because I sit at a desk. But I had an APP that counted my steps too. I found that it ran down my battery of my phone so I deleted it. But when you touched it, it makes a “step” so I’m not sure how “true” the count is, but I have no doubt that she walked quite a bit because we have a very LONG building and 2 floors which have very long hallways. All I know, it exhausts me to even think they walk all that much during the day!
So yesterday, Steve and I had a “computer session”. It was great. He showed off his new computer and I showed off my new mini computer. I was complaining about the “log in” to my new one. I had to remember a long password and I remember when I upgraded to Windows 8.1 on my laptop, I found a way to shorten the log in to a PIN number. I got very frustrated and couldn’t figure out how to do it on my little baby. BUT – perseverance paid off because now I log in with a 4 digit PIN. Life is GOOD!
I was playing with my new baby and wanted to print a page out of the manual so I tried that. I’m amazed because it is set up wirelessly to my printer/fax/copier in my dining room. That was another thing that just miraculously happened with this new baby. But before I knew it, the 105 page manual was printing out of my printer. It happened so fast that I just let it run – I know a WASTE of paper but I started reading it last night so I guess I’ll get some use out of it. I also found some videos of how the new baby works and I’ll have to watch them over a few times to “get it”. There is a lot to it. I set up MS Office on it. I believe it works through the internet on “Google docs”. I’m not quite sure of that, but I’ll work on that too. All in all, I’m pretty happy with my new little baby. I did try to get on Netflix yesterday on it and there was some sort of an “error”. Although it looks like it should work because it comes “loaded” with it on Windows 8.1, I’m not sure how to get it going. It shows my account, but I couldn’t get “Orange is the new Black” to play. So more shall be revealed. I also tried to set up “SKYPE” on it and that didn’t work. Again, it looks like it is “loaded” on the start screen, but when I tried to go to it, it didn’t work. So there is a lot to do to have this set up.
I did get to a Solitaire game that I knew how to do. I’m used to the one I have on my Kindle so this one is done a little differently. Plus there are all kinds of other Solitaire games that look very formidable. I’ll have to work on those at a later time when I have NOTHING else to do and I don’t see that happening until about 2030!
Gotta go. Have a beautiful day on this beautiful day today. I’ll be at my desk doing payroll and all kinds of other things. Thank you God for my job!

I GOT it–you walked “so many steps” that you ran down the battery of your “smart-ass” phone, or did I misread? (sigh).
Mary, I “think” that our new computers come with many apps “loaded” and that translates to “downloaded” in our parlance. Then we pick and choose of what we want, and “install” that one or those. BTW, they can be easily uninstalled also, so you can try ’em all if you wish. Since I don’t know what many of them “do”, I have to try them all (or Google them).
That place you found to fix your other computer (new fan) has been MY computer-repair for 5 or 6 years, in fact it is where I BOUGHT my latest new one. “Computer Repair and More” is their name, in case anybody is looking for reasonable rate and good workmanship, and they are honest Peeps! (Watch, now…we’ll find that they sell their computers from a recently hijacked Hewlett-Packard truck–grin!) …another (sigh).
Hey whoever reads these things of yours, I have bent their ears (and yours) enough for today, a HAPPY Monday! I feel so good, must be the cooler weather, just purrrfect early mornings!
Bye

I’m still trying to figure out the new baby. It’s been fun so far. Looking forward to many more fun times!

Sometimes better to “let it happen”…instead of “make it happen”
Plenty time-figure it all out…well…NEVER? Hmmmm–grin!.
