Hello Everyone,
I skipped yesterday – got busy again in the morning before work. I don’t know what I do sometimes to run out of time to “blog” but I do. Yesterday after work my sponsor Amy called me – now that is a switch. Anyway she had heard that Serenity by the Sea was “cancelled”. Next I get a message from Steve with the same information. Now that’s 2 people. I called Bill S because he doesn’t do FB and gave him the “heads up” that the possibility was out there. So I hadn’t heard that, but I was a work all day and don’t check much during the day except at lunch perhaps. Anyway I heard that Jerry E had tried to update the Serenity By The Sea web page and somehow it sent out a message that he cancelled the event. I didn’t check this morning to see if there is a “disclaimer” on that. I’ll go to FB now to see if there is anything. Nope. Just goes to show you that sometimes what you want to do on postings turns out not to be correct. So until I see a complete disclaimer, I’ll be “wondering” if it got cancelled or not. I’m sure “more shall be revealed”.
So last night I was playing with my new baby computer and I still could not get Netflix to work. I called an 888 number listed on the message telling me there was a “problem” and spoke to a woman in Oregon. She directed me to a place on the computer to “check for updates”. I clicked it on and we waited, and waited, and waited. She finally said, just get through the “update” and if it still doesn’t work, call me back. So I did. Finally the update completed – I think it took about 1/2 hour or so. Anyway, whatever got updated made it work so now I can view Netflix on my baby. Watched an episode of “Orange is the new Black”. Yahoo! Of course with updates, other things change too and I won’t know how until I stumble upon them. But for now I’m happy, happy, HAPPY!
That brings me to another thing though. Remember the “old” days that when you made a long distance call, your phone bill charged you for it? Well, my call to Oregon was about 17 minutes. Now I don’t know how I get charged for that or if I do. I guess I’ll just see if my Verizon bill is larger next month and that will tell me. But things have really changed over the years. It’s amazing how technology has changed me. I love it but I do get distracted by it!
I got an email from my brother Bill yesterday. I never hear from him that way – at least I don’t recall hearing from him by email. He usually calls me over the weekend but I haven’t heard from him in quite a while. I see their life on FB because Cathy put stuff up once in a while. They live in their “5th” wheel and many times they don’t have internet or phone connections. They travel with a “dish” that Bill sets up when they “park” and they get internet that way, but it is spotty. I would find that “frustrating”, but then again, they have “each other” so I guess it’s not so bad. ANYWAY he asked me if I still had “Otto”. Remember OTTO?
I used to ride Otto to work periodically. I loved that little scooter. I named it OTTO because the guy I bought it from was named Otto. He wanted a new fancy “Vespa” so he traded him in at Johnny Nocera’s Vespa dealership. It was a 50 CC scooter – Italian – Aprilia – so I didn’t need a license beyond my driver’s license. I was living downtown in Old Naples when I owned Otto. I ended up selling Otto when I got RED. I sold it to a guy named Justin who lived in the condo next door to me. As it turned out, Justin worked at Ridgway’s and I remember Justin when I used to work there. Anyway, he married some woman from Russia I think and was trying to get her into the country and wanted an additional mode of transportation for when she got to the States. So Otto lived next door to me downtown. I think the “long distance” marriage thing didn’t work out and I think he sold Otto. So no telling where Otto is now.
Well, that’s about all I have time for today. Have a wonderful day!

Ya know, Mary…it is almost a lesson for life, what you wrote about your Netflix prob. UPDATE! (I’ve got a new mantra for today…UPDATE!) HA! Update my thinking, behaviors,
“f e e l i n g s”–grin!!!
For some reason, after you acquired RED, memory of Otto just seemed SO far away. I like RED…heard you ZOOOOM out of the cookie meeting one night, it was like “the earth shook”. Well, I exaggerate a little sometimes. But that little guy (or gal?) DOES make itself known.
Don’t think I’d like living in that 5th wheel, no matter how luxurious. Even though it about kills me each time, I get a secret joy out of weeding and mowing. I even secretly like doing taxes, even though I procrastinate –our IRS forms for 2013 go into mail today, extension ends tomorrow.
Glad you skip a day now and then, no reason ever needed to “take a day away!”
Enjoy your week, hope this global warming turns into global change soon–grin!
BYE.

I don’t know if you ever get your taxes done before an extension do you? I get my stuff to my accountant as soon as my W2 is ready and my refund is in the bank before the end of March. Funny how different people are. Of course, I don’t do my own taxes – I tried that once and my ID was stolen and it took 10 months to straighten it out. Saw something about that on 60 Minutes one time. The IRS is really overwhelmed. They just send out money to everyone – legit or not and then they deal with the errors. No wonder we’re a BROKE country!
