Hello Everyone,
Today is Aunt Pat’s birthday. In 2011 she was 85 so this year she is 88 at least that is what I think. But I thought her birthday was yesterday so I could be wrong. I realize now that my calendar reminder was set for yesterday to let me know her birthday is today. So……so much for a reminder. But anyway, Luann and Catherine and Dick and Doug took her out to lunch yesterday – another reason I thought her birthday was today – just sayin’!
Here are the great pictures from yesterday. Aunt Pat looks fantastic!
I love the candle in the Chocolate Ice Cream – no “stinkin’ birthday cake” for her!
So I got back from church this afternoon and starting thinking about this blog. I didn’t start it before church because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to write about, but then I remembered these wonderful pictures and Aunt Pat’s Birthday. So here I am, blogging away.
Church was funny today. I knew that Michael and Cathy were at the “General Assembly” in Davie, Florida today and that Kenya couldn’t set up and Kelly was going to sub for her. So I get to church about 8AM and no one is there and all of the doors are locked. So I texted Michael to see about who was coming with the “key” to open. OOPS he forgot about that detail. He is always there around 7 on Sundays so we’re always able to get in because he is already there. But not today. After a while, I walked around the building and found an unlocked door. So I got in and started setting up. I made sure that the door I got in, was locked though so others can’t break in like I did. But this just goes to show that we take for granted so many things. Next week on Sunday, we’ll be at the Corrections Picnic so I won’t be there next week to set up at all. We’ve got it covered. George and Pat are coming in early to set up. They are “snow birds”, but have some knowledge of what is done. So they will be “in charge”. I told them “not to worry” – it will be FINE!
Now I think I’ll take a little time to myself and read some and then nap some. I need to do my “ironing” so that is something I’ll be doing this afternoon also.
Have a great day – what’s left of it. I know I will.

Speaking as one of “Aunt Pat’s” generation, I can say, YES, she does look fantastic. One of the probably many differences between her and me is that I will want cake AND ice cream (slightly melted please!). Let’s see, Mary–recap: Her birthday # 88 was yesterday (NOT) but her 89th was today, Sunday. Is that correct? (sorry)
Thank you for posting lovely photos of your Aunt and the people surrounding her at this time…and bless them for their love and
KINDNESSES!.
You smart girl, to lock the door which YOU opened. I might have thought, “What if someone is in here hiding with bad motives in his head. Personal experience of this I’ll have to blog myself, but I CAN tell you this.
My wife, a ‘cellist with the Cincinnati symphony–and me, violinist–had just returned home from an afternoon gig, I found the back door unlocked, thought nothing of it, we watched TV (1959) cooked and ate dinner, drank–a LOT–went to bed. NEXT morning 10AM we awakened to find my tuxedo pants were missing. A thief had been in our house from approx 5 PM until LONG after we went to sleep, and walked out. Police found my trousers about 50 yards away in the woods, wallet missing, of course.
Well, there I DID tell the story. It will never bother me if you delete my comments when they go on and on–toooo long.
Mary, have good evening. Miami Dolphins beat Chicago BEARS!!!
Busy week ahead for all of us, I hope…and HAPPY, too!
Bye.

That is an interesting story about your burglar. I hope I never have that happen to me. Of course I keep my wallet in my car. FYI.
