Good Morning Saturday, November 1, 2014

Hello Everyone,

I didn’t post yesterday.  Got involved with other stuff and ran out of time.  When I looked at the clock it was 6:15 and too late to start a post.

Yesterday was Halloween.  I really don’t dress up but I did a little bit yesterday for work.  It was also a busy day at Orchid Terrace.  Our activities people are so creative and we had the best decorations and food and all things Halloween.  We also have our regular Friday Afternoon Entertainment so yesterday was pretty exciting.  We even had other partners come and bring their children.  Everyone was having fun.  Here are a few pictures:  The first one is obviously my “selfie” – it took 6 tries to get one I hated the least!  The second is of me and Mrs. Aitken – my hair piece was a gift from her daughter – I love Mrs. Aitken – such a sweet woman!  And finally a shot of our “Grand Salon” at Orchid Terrace.  The Residents looked great this year.  We even got visited by “The Pope”!  (Mr. Burdick).  But everyone really did a good job with the costumes and people had fun and that is all that matters!

I wanted to take a couple of pictures so I could send them to Aunt Pat.  I always like to send her pictures when I write to her.  According to Luann, she enjoys the pictures so that makes me feel good.  Luann took Riley to visit with Aunt Pat yesterday and Riley fell asleep in her lap.  It was so great – she misses her dog Malcolm and Luann just adopted Riley.  A picture of Aunt Pat and Riley is here too!

So that was cool – I put a picture into the post that put it at a different spot.  Don’t know what I did, but I also was able to type in the “white” space next to a picture and then the picture came in just below it.  I kind of wish I could pick up the pictures in the blog and move them around like I can do in “publisher” publications.  But there is still a lot to learn about this “blogging” stuff.

After work I went to The Naples Grande for Serenity-by-the-Sea.  I set up the “Grapevine” table since Bill was going to be there to set up the Intergroup table and he brought the Grapevine stuff with him.  I wasn’t going to do that, but the opportunity worked out well.  Now Steve and Roy can just “work the room” when they get there and there is no urgency to be there before 9 or 10.  I think I’ll bring my little computer to the hotel today after I finish with the “Heart Walk”.  It is also the “Swamp Buggy Parade” day and they will be closing 41 from Golden Gate Parkway to 5th Avenue.  That will be going on from 9 to Noon.  I’ll get there earlier than that and will park in my old condo’s parking lot and walk over.  Then I can get out by going out 10th street and traveling home.  Then I’ll drive up to Pine Ridge and drive across to the Registry/Waldorf Astoria/Naples Grande – whatever.  The good news is that they are in the process of putting in a new parking gate system, but it will be open all weekend for “free” parking so I can park under the building.  So I plan to get there around noon and then stay until about 5:30 or so.  Then I’ll come home and set my clock back so I get to church on time to set up for service.

In the meantime, my cousin Dick is in town, setting up their new condo until Thursday next week.  So Tuesday night we’ll be having a “tour” of the new place and going out to dinner.  That gives me something to do Monday (Corrections), Tuesday (Dinner with the boys) & Wednesday (Intergroup – big meeting with Gratitude Ticket collection and announcement that Terri quit).  Should be an interesting week.  Then on Friday or Saturday, we need to give the count to the caterer for the Dinner and I finish up the signage for the tables, order the balloon (I think I’ll get 25) and then it will be all over but the “shouting” for Saturday.  Then I’ll be done after the “wrap up” and HEAR THESE WORDS – no more shall I be doing tickets for the Gratitude Dinner.  I’ve done them 7 times (at least) and I’m totally done with that!!!!  If it’s on the blog it must be true!  But the best thing is that all of my obligations (stressers) will be over.  Even the Variety Show at Moorings Park.  Thinking I might wear my “Boston Red Socks” tee shirt rather than the “Cowboy” hat and boots – just too uncomfortable even for 4 hours!  Then I could wear my tennis shoes which would be much better!

Well, I guess that is about all for now.  I hope everyone has a great day today!  I know I will!
