Good Morning Sunday, November 2, 2014I

Hello Everyone,

It is really cold here today.  52 degrees!  The cats don’t even want to sit out on the front porch this morning…..too cold for them!  So we are hunched down trying to keep warm!

Change of time last night – FALL BACK.  But of course the cats didn’t know that happened so they made me get up at 4 to feed them – it was still 5 on “their clocks!”  But I’ll slowly get them on the correct schedule.  I went back to bed this morning and got a little more sleep – so much for “gaining an hour”!  It will be nice going to work when it is light out though so that will be nice.

Participated in the HEART WALK in the morning yesterday before going to the Naples Grande.  Our “Tee Shirt” design won the tee shirt contest.  That was really cool.  Our CEO, Dan Lavender, was the Chairman this year.  We came in 2nd in Fundraising and beat out NCH which is our rival so that made us all happy.  I think we had the most participants too!

So yesterday I went to Serenity-By-The-Sea at the Naples Grande.  We set up a table for The Grapevine with Archives and Intergroup.  It was at the end of the hallway and was a little under “exposed” so we needed to “shake it up” a little to drum up business.  So Roy rose to the occasion and was willing to dress up like a “GRAPE” cluster.  So funny, but really effective!  We strolled around the lobby and had a lot of fun.  We even got 2 people to sign up for The Grapevine!  That was really cool.

Next, Steve decided to go home and pick up his violin to entertain people and draw them into the room.  I thought that was a wonderful thing to do on our behalf and it worked too.  All in all it was a pretty successful event and I’m glad we were able to participate.

Haven came too, so our committee worked hard to make it happen.  She bought 2 Gratitude Dinner tickets from me so that was pretty cool also.  I finally sold out my 8 tickets!  (I’m not a very good sales person – I’m just glad I got rid of the 8 tickets even though I bought 2 myself!)  Still have 2 MIA tickets from the envelope at Intergroup.  My “extra” one I purchased will cover one of them, although I was going to give it as a volunteer ticket and I still may do that.  We’ll just have to “absorb” those 2 tickets.

Got some difficult news yesterday that our Intergroup Office is being “evicted”.  Although it sounds worse than it is.  The Landlord has given us space for many years at far below market value and we’ve been very grateful for that.  But the area is growing up around us and is getting very “pricey” and he wants to get in on it.  Has already fixed up his office space and wants to expand into our space so we have 30 days to get out.  That displaces the Brown Bag which has been there for lots of years, not to mention the Corrections meeting and the Grapevine meeting.  The Grapevine can meet at my house for a while I guess.  But we’ll worry about that in December, we’re OK for this month.

Well, I need to wrap it up now.  I am going to “set up” at church this morning and need to stop by Publix on my way.  So have a “Grape” day everyone.

Girl…YOU sure know how to “fill up a day”. Busy, busy. I stayed to hear Clancy, and it was good. You know. Then fed Burt, went to 6:45 PM meeting. (Maybe I know how to fill up a day???)–grin!

THOROUGHLY enjoyed the “Serenity by the Sea”, it was my first.
GRAPE MAN would fit right in at the International Convention in Atlanta…DEF at a FL STATE AA convention..maybe??? MORE shall be revealed–HAH!

It was “good feeling” having the whole committee there to participate, and I Felt “good” also, being one of…

Personally, with participation like that (believe you picked up another committee member?) I think we should have our table separated from others. Sorry, “others”–grin! But maybe out in THE room, ya know. Whatever. It was just a passing thoughtless thought.

Heard about the IG office approaching changes last night. Funny how people get excited b/c they (ME!) hate change. But it is USUALLY (always?) for the better.

    Gotta GO!
    Bye

Happy you got to hear Clancy. I agree about having the table in the foyer, but we all could have been in that huge foyer and not in the back alley room. Since we were only there for the day (which I think is a “given” in the future) that we should “suggest” that to Jerry. It might even be a little “cheaper” for them, not having that room on the bill.
