Ms. Days Ease RV Life #61

Today is Saturday, December 7, 2019. I am 69 years old today. Next year is the BIGGIE! Anyway, we’re going to the Caverns today and then we’re going to have lasagna (my mom’s recipe) made by my brother tonight and we’re decorating their Christmas Tree. None of us have had a Christmas Tree in years! Bill & Cathy have been in a camper/trailer/rig/RV most years, and I have cats. So now that they have a house, a tree is in the window waiting for decorations! So out will come the dusty ornaments to place upon the tree. Christmas carols will be playing and a fire will be burning on the TV. Life is good!

So yesterday I got a new neighbor: (I guess I should read my own posts as I put this picture on yesterday!) Anyway………

I was speaking with Barry yesterday and he told me he built the rig. He just sold his campground in Minnesota after 18 or so years and now they are building a home up there. Or rather he is doing the work, so it will get done when he finishes it. He and his wife Christie sold their campground in MN and spent the winter down here last year – in fact, they were in my site last year. He is proud of the work inside of his rig – as he should be – but that is why it is so unique. He had nice things to say about my Born Free so that was good to hear. Anyway, I’ll get a tour of it at some point. I’d love for Bill and Cathy to see it also. So in addition to the huge Motorhome, they also have this:

Toy Hauler

So look at those 12 tires! Barry said that his little car (a Mini) goes in first and is lifted up and then the dune buggy goes in next. I’d love to see that configured! So Barry is going to work for this development as a “handiman” and his wife Christy is going to work in the kitchen. So that got me thinking, perhaps there would be something for me to do here to pay for my site? That might be an opportunity for me! Time will tell!

Another thing I’ve been considering is my trips back to Naples to move out here. Lot’s of details to arrange and I don’t really want to bring Daisy all the way back to Florida and then bring her all the way back to Arizona. But that means somehow taking care of the kitties on these trips. So both of the Veterinarians in Benson do not board animals! So I got a name of a “kennel” about an hour away where they have “runs” available for the kitties. So I thought I’d have Bill and Cathy take me out there to see what it was like. They said we would need the Jeep to get out to the place – apparently the road isn’t paved! Not so sure about that! So I was in the office here waiting to speak with my salesman and I picked up this:

Pets at Home

I gave her a call and she will come by the rig and feed them here. So, problem solved! That was such a relief. She sounds like a really nice person and has 2 cats of her own so she knows cats – she’s had others – up to 4 at one point – too. One of these days I’ll stop by and introduce myself to her and have her stop by to see the kitties!

So I’m going to stop for a while. I need to have breakfast this morning so I’m not starving later and I need to take the trash before we leave on our adventure today! I’ll be back!

So we just got back from the Cavern. It is called Kartchner Caverns State Park. I may camp there one day, and I could volunteer there too! Here is proof that I was there:

There are two tours, so we could go back again and we could camp there. Something close by to do for me. You are not allowed to take any pictures inside the cave nor can you touch anything. It’s a constant 71 degrees with 99% humidity. Everything was built by hand in there. They want to preserve the caves for future generations. The two men who discovered it back in the 60’s kept it a secret until they made the area a State Park for preservation. I’ve never been in a cave before so it was really amazing to me. Our Ranger was a girl named Zia. She was very knowledgeable and full of information. I learned a lot. I want to go again for the other tour.

I’m trying to get my flamingo to light up for Christmas, so I was walking up to B & C’s for a light bulb and this is what landed right by me:

Hawk

I shot a video of it too:

My first Arizona Hawk

So I’m about to go to B & C’s for my birthday dinner and to decorate the tree. Thanks for visiting! Come back again!
