Ms. Days Ease RV Life #79

Today is Wednesday, January 15, 2020. 15 days into the new year, new adventure, new life. I tried to trade my rental car in yesterday because the KIA Optima has a really low seat and it hurts my back. They never called me back so I guess it isn’t going to work. I filled it up with gas yesterday so I have enough gas to get me to the Airport on Friday morning EARLY – leaving at 4:30 for my 7:30 flight. I’m paying the extra $50 to drop it off at the airport. So I probably won’t do much driving around now. I need to mail 2 more boxes of “stuff” to me in Benson. That makes 8 boxes. Sounds like a lot, but they don’t hold that much stuff.

I am a member of RVillage which is a group of RVers who post things and it sends you notices of members in your area. Someone posted a comment about Harvest Hosts which reminded me of my great experience in Sebring which I mentioned in a post too. But I came across this when I was looking for a picture of “Faded Bistro & Beer Garden”.

Here are a couple of pictures of the place too:

I am getting excited about my trip back to Arizona. When I get there, my Jeep should be there. I’m going to move to the Escapees park where I’ll save at least $200 a month. It is near where Bill and Cathy are, but is cheaper than CT RV. I’m trying to determine whether I’ll make it out to Quartzite for the RTR. It’s for the whole month of January and I can try some “boondocking” for a while. See what that is like. I’ve been reading about it and I can use my generator if I need it. Biggest concern is whether it will be too cold and I’ll want my heater. But I’ll keep watching the weather to make that determination, also it depends on how far it is to get there on my own. Let me see if I can tell how far it is from Benson. I’ll be back.

The Route to Quartzsite

It’s going to be pretty busy there so I’m not sure I’m ready this year to go there. We’ll see. I think a priority might be to get the Jeep set up for towing behind Daisy. That’s going to cost about $5K so that may be all I do when I get back. Then I’ll decide when I could start to volunteer at Kartchner.

I think I’ll stop for now and go for a walk. Get it in early before it gets too hot and sunny. I’ll be back. Here is the result from my 3rd day wearing my pedometer – worse than day 2 but better than day 1.

Day 3

My walk was 40 minutes and I went 2 miles. I took this picture along the way through Lely.

Bill Strenkert asked me once if I missed the “green” which is non existent in Arizona. I guess I would say yes I do. Especially when the weather is not oppressively HOT. It was a lovely walk this morning, only 66 degrees. But Arizona has beautiful mountains and beautiful desert cactus that Florida doesn’t have so it’s a trade off. Plus the cool air sticks around a lot longer in Arizona.

I decided that I want to travel around Arizona once I get back and it begins to warm up in southern Arizona. I especially want to go up to Prescott and Sedona. Lot’s of adventures ahead!

So this is how the 4th Day on Pedometer went – getting closer to 10K!

Day 4

So I have now disconnected my cable boxes. I guess I’ll just watch stuff on my computer. I’m sure one of the news outlets will have the Impeachment on their app. I’m using my MiFi for internet service. It seems to be just as fast as my Comcast. So I’m saving $125 for that a month, plus the $60 for FCC, plus I got an extra $90 in SS starting this month (that was a nice surprise). Plus I saved $100 a month now that I don’t need storage in Naples for Daisy and I’m going to save about $150 a month once I’m back in Benson. Plus Suzee paid off her bike to me, so I have cash for that too. Things are looking up!

PS: Just to add a couple of things to this blog – don’t know if anyone really reads this beside my friend Bill, but I finally got to 10K steps today!

I also stopped by Anytime Fitness today to be sure my gym membership is in the system. I did see an Anytime Fitness in Tucson. So I’ll be able to find them out west. I watched Undercover Boss last night and it was about Anytime Fitness. That is what reminded me of the place.

So this happened today over my house:

I gave up my cable today and I’m using my MiFi for internet so I can’t watch TV tonight. I did watch the Impeachment proceedings today on my iPad. Very interesting process. It will be interesting to see what starts on Tuesday.
