Hello everyone,

So yesterday I took my car in to change a $4 light bulb and it cost me $100.  I did get a car wash though.  Anyway, I had them change both light bulbs and then they said I needed windshield wipers (which I knew was true) so I got that done.  It was pretty quick though, but it kept me from wasting time and money on the internet buying something I didn’t need.  So I guess it was a productive use of my money!  I took my little ASUS computer with me and watched part of an episode of “Orange is the new Black”.  I love that series.  I also like “The Blacklist” now.  I’ve been watching it on Netflix.  I love Netflix “streaming” movies on my computers.  What a way to be entertained!  That was how I watched the movie about Steve Jobs.  I just put the earphones on and lie on the couch with the computer on a pillow on my chest.  I suppose that isn’t so great for my eyes, but then again I don’t need my glasses to see the movie which is pretty cool.  I’ve watched movies on every device – even my iPhone.  It’s a little small on my phone but it’s got me thinking I may want to get the bigger iPhone for my birthday.  But I need to check to see how much longer I have on this current contract.  Another thing I’ve thought about doing for my birthday is paying my “dues and fees” at the 24 Hour Club.  I think I’ll do that anyway.  We’ll see what I do for my birthday above and beyond that.

So this morning it’s 2 degrees warmer than yesterday – 52 today.  No it just dropped 2 degrees!  50 again!

It’s 70 in my house.  I like that temperature.  Just cool enough to enjoy a hot cup on coffee.  Anyway, Wylie got me up at her regular 4AM time to feed her.  Then I went back to sleep for a while and she came back and kept bugging me to get out of bed.  Of course she’s sleeping now, the little scamp, and I’m up and washing clothes and doing my “blog”.  I’m surrounded by chilly kitties – it’s really sweet.  I did catch a great picture this morning of Metaxa:

She loves to hide in there and when one of the other cats walks by she pounces on them from inside the tube.  It’s really funny and it surprises them every time and makes me laugh!  Then sometimes she continues tormenting them by chasing them around the house.  She is really a great cat!  LOVE LOVE LOVE Her!

So yesterday I went to the “Greenway” again.  It was a beautiful day and I really enjoyed the walk.  Here are the results:

I’m enjoying this place a lot.  It will be wonderful when it is complete.  Then it will be a great trail for riding a bike and it can get me from Golden Gate Parkway all the way to Tin City.  It now stops at the airport.  I don’t think it would be too difficult to connect the ride around the airport as most of the sidewalk is already there.  In fact, I think there is a walkway that is paved already and I had thought I would roller blade it one of these days.  I am so happy I’ve moved where I am now.  It gives me a whole new perspective of Naples.  I go places now that I never really went to before and I feel more connected than ever before.  It’s amazing to me that I’ve been in this town for just about 40 years and I still love this town after all that time.  When I think about it, I am really blessed and grateful.  AA has taught me that.  While walking on the Greenway, it winds around a lot of wooded areas and also along the Gordon River.  Yesterday there were 4 people paddle boarding along the river.  I’m not sure I’d like to do that because it takes a lot of balance and I’d hate to fall into the river.  It was really calm though and they made it seem effortless.  I suppose “never say never”.  So along the way there are a lot of these:

I guess eventually, we’ll be able to walk along the Greenway at night.  Of course it’s a great idea but I’m not sure I’d do it then, but I suppose it would be interesting to see it at night.  I wonder if the lights work yet.

Today I’m free to do anything I want and I love that when it happens.  I have no obligations and I think I’ll probably go to a couple of meetings.  It is another beautiful day and a ride on Red to Common Solutions would probably be a good idea.  I like that Saturday morning meeting because it starts at 9:30 and gives me time to futz around at home before getting to the meeting.  And of course I’ll make it to the Naples Group tonight at 6:45.  Another favorite meeting.  I’m beginning to like going to meetings more now.  I really think I’m finding a “home” at the Naples Group.  I liked going last Thursday.  Next Thursday is the business meeting so I’ll make it to that.  I like the people at that meeting.  It’s a good group.
